As a student training to administer anesthesia, I am subject to routine drug tests. If I fail one I am done. Can't have your anesthesia providers inject their patients with saline and keeping the good stuff for themselves...

Im an anesthesiologist, I havent had a drug test in my life :)

I work for a large transportation company, and, we pre-employment test all employees.

Any employee driving trucks or working in the field are randomly tested as well as tested yearly.

Corporate/office jobs are also randomly tested.

ignorant fuck.

go ahead, name 10 countries that are "more free" than America.

roflsocks.

I think this very much depends on what your measure of "free" is. Without some definitions the statement is meaningless. Economically America is probably the freest country out there, but IMHO it's too free in many ways. Most other countries don't see the free market as the solution to absolutely everything and this IMNSHO is a good thing in many cases, a la health care et al. But if you look at certain social issues as the measure of freedom then America probably isn't at the very top. Issues like gay marriage and illegal drug laws etc...

I rest my case about stupid Americans.

You're free are you mate?

Go have sex with a hooker and smoke some weed.

Oh wait, that's illegal in the states.

Real free.

you have failed to list any other countries.

also, you have a very pedestrian understanding of freedom.

hey, at least I can have sex with a hooker. smoke some weed, if I want.

You know as much about my country as you know about the inside of a library, I imagine.

seriously.

answer the question.

define "free"

then answer

try it.

I'm a rather critical person about the USA, but the statement is ridiculously ignorant. And believe me, I'm no non-traveling xenophobic fuckwit.

Tell me, Mr Sheep-shagger, how many times have you ventured off of your puny little island and actually TALKED to people from other countries?

i am 35 and have NEVER taken a drug test when hired for a job.

yup. totally depends on the job.

blue collar, construction, probably. makes sense (no body fucked up driving forklifts around a factory, installing a roof, whatever).

But that's if that's the only type of job you know...

drug tests are mostly useless as a pothead won't get the job because THC stays in a person's system so long. where a speed user can stop using for a day or two and pass no problem.

Hmm I guess you're right. So let's have a look at some metrics - thankfully there are already a number of indices which have done this.

So shall we judge by economic freedom? USA 9th equal.
How about the Democracy Index? Hmmm, USA is 18th here.
What about freedom of the press? Well, looks like USA doesn't do too well here either, at 20th equal.
But surely the Corruption Perception Index? Hmm, nope, again USA 19th place.

Hmm, I'm having some trouble quantifying exactly how USA is number one in freedom in the world. Seeing as you're Mr Educated *snigger* perhaps you can enlighten us.

Number 4.

Though we should be higher. All the countries above us are cold.

You may want to review the sections...you really aren't that much better esp when you are comparing a medium sized country to a large one. You guys are also having to go to school an additional 5 years on average to hit those same numbers.

I love those that say how crappy the US is, yet consume its products (like even this Forum, our music, our inventions)...and in the end rely on our military and concessions to keep their asses safe and afloat.

I'd imagine a lot of things illegal in the rest of the world are totally ok in Austrailia since that was the shithole everyone sent their criminally insane and miscontents.

Whatever makes you feel better about living in one of the last western countries to give women the vote, free the slaves and decriminalise homosexuality. Yup, good ol' free America.

Facepalm.

It's not a competition. I never said America was crappy. In fact, I said it was a great country.

All I did was comment on the saying 'Land of the Free." It just annoys me when yanks say that. That's all.

But you have to get your panties in a twist.

Oh, and saying Australia is crappy is disingenuous.

Pretty much anyone who ever visted here thinks it's great. Objectivly it's probably the best place in the world to live.

Well it was. In the last few years house prices have made things a little hard for the working man.

dude, my panties are hardly in a twist. It's like watching the retard keep pushing a door that says pull.

I just think it's funny on all the US based forums out there it's always a bunch of the kangaroo lovers that spout off how the US sucks. On the car forums they usually talk up their little Monacos.

In the US is where EVERYTHING happens...good and bad pretty much. That's why we are AWESOME.

BTW Alcatraz is great to visit too, same with La Brea tar pits.

LOL @ Monacos. You mean Monaro, but you knew that. ;)

Dude, I hate those cars too.

Of course we're on your forums! We have a population of 22mil vs your 300mil. You own all the forums! That doesn't make the states a better place to live!

And for the 10th time, I never said America sucks.

It's like our 'cameros', the people that rave can't even spell them right.

I am sure if the US blocked access to all it's stuff like music, movies, and forums; most would be changing their opinion.

Yep.

Just like you's would be acting different if China decided to block exports of all its ipods, phones and widescreen tv's.

China is just a place everyone sends things to be assembled, they'd just move it to some other pisstank of a place to continue. The ideas mostly originated right here in the US.
