Manchester vs. Toledo

Hello!

I thought that 4400+ exists only in Toledo cores but I haven seen many ads saying 4400+ 1mb L2 Manchester??
Shouldn't Mancheser be 512 L2 and Toledo 1mb L2

What are actual differences of Toledo and Manchester cores? Toledo is E6 stepping and Manchester is E4/E6 ?

What does this diffence mean?

Manchester = 2x512k cache
Toledo = 2x1mb L2 cache
Therefore you will never see a 4400+, or 4800+ Manchester since they both have 2x1mb of cache.

There are some 3800+ X2's that are Toledo cores, but have half the cahce disabled(so it still has 2x512k).

Programs like CPU-Z will still report Toledos as Manchesters, but if you use Everest, it'll explicitly state if you have a Toledo w/ 512kb, a.k.a. Toledo512 (probably a JH-E6).

It wouldn't be as confusing if AMD just gave it a different name, like they did in the XP series:
Barton = 512kb L2
Tbred = 256kb L2
Thorton = Barton w/ 256kb L2 enabled

so which core is better?
I've seen x2 3800 manchesters and toledo's? are they the pretty much the same processor or will 1 overclock more

I'd say they overclock about the same. My Manchester does 2.6GHz, with just 1.397v (it flunctuates +/- 0.02, though).
