I don't have anything against cigarette butts as much as I hate that smokers always seem to get free "breaks" while the rest of the workers are busting thier asses working...lol.

I am a smoker and have 0 problems with this outside the exaggerated "overtime".

I'd like to see that they actually paid it, 'cause you know they aren't.

So sorry that you feel your right to litter and create an eyesore out of our patio area is being threatened.

I too am a smoker and have no issue with requiring people to use provided ash trays...I also have no problem with a restriction on smoking in front of doors that are used regularly. (if there's a door to the smoking area that's not a general entrance, then no restriction needed...

And now we are Nazi's because we don't want to inhale smoke? LOL..wow

The rationalizations of the addict are hard to fathom.

AHOLES all of them...

i want to gather about 50lbs of ashtray refuse and dump it into their car...and throw a dip spit cup in there as well...

Yeah because the smell of fast food and the smell of smoke has the same effects...

What? Doesn't matter. They're the same. I don't want to smell your stinky food. In fact, we should make a law that says you can't bring stinky food withing 50 feet of people.

You can't be stupid enough to believe that they're the same.

The odor has trans-fat in it. It's a proven and known health hazard. I want a law against it. I don't have to breathe your stinky, unhealthy, bad habit. It is my right to not smell like your fatty food.

Good!

They should now enforce rules against people smoking right in front of the door. That crap is terrible.

Agreed. I hate that.

Smoke as much as you want - just don't force other people to inhale your second hand smoke.

And you don't bring your fast food into the office. It stinks and is making me fat.
:disgust:
sure, blame everyone but yourself for that.

 to management. i hate when people do that. also, people that want to kill their lungs, fine just do it where i don't have to pass through your smoke and get lung cancer too.

First off, good for the company. Cig smokers should clean up after themselves. I also agree with mandatory smoking areas, but distance requirements are sometimes near impossible to implement. In Utah, you have to be 25ft away from any entrance into a building. This law wouldn't even let the smokers use the designated smoking areas because it was 23ft from a door.

Just FYI, the research behind the second hand smoke risk used subjects that worked in heavy smoking environments for over a decade, and those who lived in heavy smoking households. These are people that were subject to continuous and heavy amounts of smoke for more than 8hrs a day.

Just pointing this out, because catching a whiff of cig. smoke is not going to harm you. Otherwise they would have to ban cars for the same reason. Or start banning people because you don't like their perfume or cologne.

nice and simple watch them get a discrimination lawsuit or someting

Except discrimination on the basis of nasty habits is perfectly legal. Only discrimination based on race, creed, ethnic origin or gender is illegal.

Yes smokers need to be courteous, step away from entrances when smoking it isn't going to kill you to be a little colder / wetter for those extra 2.5 minutes and throw away your god damn butts it's nasty to have to pick them up, they get all wet, they stink to high heaven and you get all that nasty ass butt juice all over your hands which might I say is ever so pleasant.

I don't have a problem with smokers I'll light one up every once in a while myself, I have a big problem with people being pigs.

Great policy. I recently saw a guy smoking that threw his butt on the ground when he walked into a non-smoking area (to eat). This homeless guy yelled at him for polluting--I mean heck, it doesn't take brains or money to respect the environment.

Good for them. If I was a cop, I'd hand out littering tickets to people that toss their butts from cars. That is bullshit too.

Amen. That goes for the slobs that throw other wrappers (fast food, gum, etc) too.
Cigarettes are the thing I see thrown out every day though.. and see piled up at the intersections by the curb and in the grass. gross.

Sounds like a reasonable request (or order): clean up after yourself. Trash is trash - tossing a cigarette butt out in the street is just as bad as sticking your gum under the seat.

Unreasonable: people and their attitudes against smokers. Fine, it is an unhealthy habit but sheesh...some of you guys make it sound like cigarettes emanate toxic radiation that will cause your skin to turn purple and body to spawn a few extra limbs.....lighten up. 😉
