Me too. If it wasn't for tax payer subsidized university education I don't know where I would be.
Commie!!!! Get outta here with those socialist ideas! :p
We should all be in debt forever if we go to Uni. :D
I went to UNSW (Sydney) for a semester and it was EXPENSIVE, but I was a foreign student.

It isn't a matter of vetting well enough it's a matter of him not giving a rat's ass. Manafort is of sufficient moral standing, perfect in fact for his lack of it.

What will be interesting is what Manafort's cooperation reveals and if and how hard it bites back on Trump et. al.

Manafort is that perfect bad dude. I can only surmise he is a clinical psychopath if diagnosed.
Ill take bets that a future bond villain will be named Manafort.

That's fun :D

How about we rename him after a likely possibility, that of civil litigation.

"Paul Manytorts"?

He's the bigger, badder, multinational version of Jack Abramoff, Lee Atwater & Roger Stone all rolled into one.

And now he's a rat, too, because he can't trust Trump. Funny how being locked up can change a guy's perspective.

He probably dislikes Trump quite a bit. If you've read the Woodward book, Trump ridiculed and humiliated him in front of numerous people when his poll numbers were down in August. That was when he canned him and brought in Bannon.

So true, last year before all the indictments came, I remember so former State Prosecutor on the news saying, whoever gets inducted will start tough and profess their loyalty, once they’re locked up and reality of what it will do to them & their families, they’ll flip.
He mentioned he saw it happen many times from petty theft, drugs and more serious crimes. I think he claimed nearly everyone flips.

It's particularly true in the federal system. The DoJ doesn't prosecute many edge cases. It's not their style. They're meticulous & patient when it comes to organized crime, which is really what we're talking about. They've had a lot of practice. They don't even want people to rat in a lot of situations because they don't need another rat. The first rat always gets the best cheese. The rest can cop to serious time or make it worse by going to trial. The other side of it is that few people have the resources to even make bail let alone spend a few $100K or more to mount a credible defense.

Yeah. They pretty much double the price for foreign students and I assume they want the money up front? That's one of the main ways universities make their cash.

If you are a citizen the cost is subsidized and the money is loaned from the government interest free which is then payed back via a scalable percentage of a persons income at tax time. Of course people can still pay up front if they like.

If you want commie ideas check this out. A previous Labor government under Gough Whitlam abolished university fees in the mid 70's. Which made university education free all*. This lasted for ~15 years. I have family members that went to some of the best schools in the country and didn't pay a cent for their degree. :)

Radical huh? ;-P

*However. People still needed to meet the entry standards.
