- Drug tested, but yet supposed to be the freeest country in the world. We barely get that done up here!
- About a third of your country wants the word 'God' on every national document ever written/thinks the Earth is only 6000 years old.
- Violent, realistic video games get pulled from chain store shelves, while semiauto rifles and add-on flash muzzlers are offered to nearly anyone with a pulse...
- You don't see the orgasmic simplicity of selling bagged milk!

Anyone ever tell you folks you're a weird bunch? Really, I wouldn't trade America as our neighbour over anything but the contradictions are mind-boggling!

I forgot this big one:

- Weed makes you stupid but alcohol is okay cause the government says so.

This coming from someone who's never touched the stuff, by the way.

No but in some provinces that border an ocean and have the initials B.C. you'd swear otherwise!

Otherwise it depends where you are when you get caught. Anything from house arrest to "gimme that and get outta here, you rascals."

Who the fu$k are you? We've got municipalities with larger populations than your whole country.

Your economy only subsists upon our whelm and your armed forces are a joke! You are socialists because the US economy and it's influx of capitol permits it! Hell! You've got half your citizens speaking french and THEY think your country is such a POS they want to secede!

Actually, you'd be surprised what most Americans say about Canada once they've actually came and visited our fine country...

Chill dude. :) Two HUGE problems that exist up here:

A) We have no rather brilliant Constitution like yours to balance the powers in this country. All of it is concentrated in the Prime Minister's Office. As I'm sure you can guess this causes major problems.
B) There is a culture of patronage that was imported from the Old World that makes a lot of major infrastructure deals very shady. Not too helpful to getting things done and our general competitiveness.

P.S. This was not meant as an U.S.-bashing thread. I like the U.S. Just felt like pointing out the obvious.

This has to be one of the dumbest country threads ever. Your first argument is true...but I don't recall the freedom to use substances that turn you into a braindead moron in the Constitution. The rest of your arguments either make absolutely no sense (2, 4) or exist in most modern countries (3).

Actually, the violence thing...I can't recall the last game that was pulled from shelves. Maybe Primal Rage for Genesis? Sometimes Wal-Mart or Target won't carry it but there's 1249813480 other stores that will.

Yeah..

I've been there a dozen times and all I ever here about is folks trying to beat the government out of taxes! It's the national hobby!

I like Canadians, especially the ladies. Met some fine ones in the West Indies. Don't they build some of our "American" cars too.

Don't you just love the diversity of us Yanks? We are a melting pot of incongruities. We have a difficult enough time understanding ourselves so it is no wonder that Canucks and other nationalities can't possibly fathom our nefarious ways.

Doesn't it seem odd, though, that as screwed up as we appear to be to the rest of the world we always get the job done that noone else will even try? That is the beauty of being an American. We don't have to care about what anyone else thinks of us. We are number one and we don't have any plans to let that change.

Fact to ponder: Who finally built the Panama Canal?
