I was taken off 3 drugs and had 5 added. Taken off Vicoden, lunesta, and Depakote added Midrin, Maxalt, Diclofenac, Zonegran, Elavil. He said one is a tranqulizer andthat one and some other one I take at night time I wont ever have to worry about talking another sleeping pill again for it will knock me out, I just hope I wake up.

Dont they want to find out what is causing my Migranes?? I feel like I am a drug companies test subject right now. I am on all of thoes I have to take for my migrane and the ones for my High Blood pressure and Diabeties as well. I looked up all my new pills and damn it seems like im in for a hell of a ride and it better relieve my migrane pain at the very least for all the fun side effects I am about to be in for. Im begening to question if any of it is worth it and just live with the pain for the rest of my life in a vegitative state.

All I want is for my head to stop, the shaking to stop, to talk normal again, concentrate, and have my memory back. Switching docs and getting another opinion is out of the question with my health insurance.

He wacked me with his little hammer and my right leg did nothing tillhe hit it for like the 5 or 6th time and then it moved. My left leg took 3 wacks till it moved, and both my right and left arm did absolutly nothing no matter how many times he wacked it. He has me getting a EEG done on the 27th of this month I guess to see whats going on there. Which I can tell them right now its just going to flat line.

Then he wants to set me up with all kinds of blood works and other good crap too.

I just want the pain and stuff to stop and be normal again (if you consider before all this crap me normal :p). I dont think I am asking to much.

Rant over again :(

that's scary. But typical. Doctors just love the throw a ton of pills at people. I've found it better to just do as much personal research as possible first. And try to make changes in other areas. And in the meantime wait for test results.

I wont touch any pills if I can help it anymore. To many will totally eff you up worse than what the original problem was. And being dependant on pills cant be good for the psyche either.

Have u gotten a second opinion....if you havent then shame on you big time.

If you have....well perhaps find another doc or talk to ur current one about why you need all the pills.

Elavil, have fun with that. I woke up one morning paralyzed and couldn't move until it started to wear off a couple hours later.

I stopped taking it after that fun morning.

I know you've posted previous threads but I don't remember - did they do an MRI and/or a CT on your brain?

I recently heard on the radio, that some migraines can be caused by a problem with the heart.

When we are born we all have holes in our hearts, for most people, it closes itslef completely but in some cases, that hole does not close all the way and it has been learned that this issue has been tied to severe headaches.

In test subjest where this abnomality was found, when surgery was done to close the hole, the headaches stopped.

I don't know what you have and have not discussed with your doctor, but this is something to look into if you have not already.

Also, have you tried alternative medicine such as acupuncture or chiropractic care?

This abnormality is a a VSD or Ventricular Septal Defect. There are also ASD's which are Atrial Septal Defects. They are rather easy to find especially in babies who have larger defects. Got any links to research papers or journals discussing this? I am interested.

Things like this you might want to give Chinese herbal medicine or accupuncture a try.

Doctors don't really seem to know much about what causes migraines, which is why you are where you are. There are treatments that work for some types, but overall, they're still largely a mystery.

Actually, the brain as a whole is still a mystery. At least it seems as if your doctor wants to help, which still says something.

have you thought about seeing a good massage therapist? I can get rid of most of my clients headaches, and yes some of those are migranes.

im not saying to stop seeing your doc but just suggesting another route to try to get a handle on your problem.

Yup, a long time ago they figured out that instead of paying someone to be a test subject for a new drug, they could get patients to pay them!

There's a Soviet Russia joke in there somewhere.

... uh... except for the studies done suggesting that many migraine are caused because of tension on the dura from the muscular connection between the dura and c1-c2 via the rectus capitis posticus minor....

Like I said, there are types of migraines about which doctors know a bit and have cures. There are also types about which no one has a clue. If you're going to tell me that anyone--whether he be an MD, a chiropractor, an accupuncturist, or whoever--can cure any migraine, I'm calling BS.

ill call you on that. i have had people nearly carried into my office from migranes and i was able to get rid of their pain and walk out 45 min later. now i cant help all migranes, some are in my opinion caused by harmones and other body chemistry that i cant do a thing about.
