Man... why do I suck at C&C Generals?

Well I always play as the US, just because that's what I started with and I think I should stick with it and get good at it. Well I played today one a map against one Brutal army, and I got rushed and annihilated before I could even build any significant number of units.

Then I played vs a Hard army and the same thing happened...

FINALLY, I won against a Normal army, but it still pissed me off that I could suck so bad.

I've been playing against my friend via direct connect, and we always play on a team and always win (last time against two brutal armies)... So why am I sucking now?

I've read all the strategy guides and I do that whole two supply stations next to two supply docks thing, but it just seems to weaken me... it's like from the very beginning the computer has the advantage... 5 minutes into the game I can tell that I'm going to lose.

Can someone help me out here? I'm also not very good with the air units... which ones should I build first? Should I have raptors patrol the area and guard against air OR ground attacks?

Any help would be appreciated, and if someone is interested we can fight via direct connect...

Yah I got pwned in Generals the first couple times I've played it. I've played C&C since the original C&C, and got quite good at RA2, but this game wrecks me! I think I run out of credits.

i don't know, it depends on your building order. think what your oppenent builds and build whatever is best against it. lots of them. comps are designed to be tough. also if your stuck with US try the other two. As much as i hate to say this my favorite side is the terrorists. Nothings better than getting money for your kills. 😀

I love how GLA buildings rebuild themselves if the GLA holes aren't destroyed.

Whoa you get money for your kills with the GLA?

Yeah, it's one of the General upgrades. 5% of the units' worth at level 1, 10% at level 2, and 20% at level 3. If you kill a couple expensive units, you can easily get $1000. I think you get $50 or $75 each time you kill an American Ranger.

Just keep practicing. I can take 2 brutals by myself now... have yet to try three but I might be able to do it.

Against the computer, 1 Comanche is good against rushes because they don't seem to target it effectively.

Many people have noticed that the computer AI, always attack you from 2-3 points in the map.
Play the map/s on normal mode, find out where these points are, go back to hard/brutal, and build some base defences there, and some other units just behind to mop up if they get past.
