well that is the point really. he could go around but he doesn't so he can show something to the camera. same goes with quicksand or whatever he tosses himself into.

IIRC he flew over Everest in a unpowered aircraft. My former psych teacher's brother was there working at base camp and I'm pretty sure that's what he said.
