Man viciously stabbed to death 20 times on DC Metro

This may be the one of the most brutal slayings we've seen in the area.
According to court documents, Sutherland’s stabbing injuries included a deep wound to the heart. Another stab wound fractured a rib and punctured his lung. He was also stabbed in the back, sides and arms.

Sutherland had another 10 to 20 cuts on his body including defensive wounds to his arms and hands plus multiple bruises on his face, an autopsy found.

Spires threw Sutherland’s cellphone at the dying man and then walked away. But he returned and stomped on Sutherland’s body, according to one witness. Another passenger tells police that Spires kicked the dying man.

Also notice how CNN and other liberal media (google jasper spires cnn, or msnbc) refused to report on this abominable slaying despite the fact it was a black man killing a white in a major city. If it was the other way around, it would be front page headlines on both sites. Also, why is this not classified by the FBI as a hate crime? He came back and stomped the man as he was dying.

Since the OP made this about the "liberal media" and the FBI and hate crimes, I moved it from OT to P&N. After further consideration this would seem to be nothing more than race-baiting, especially since the OP has no idea what a hate crime is and keeps emphasizing the race part.

Spires had been arrested just two days earlier in Friendship Heights on charges of robbery and assaulting a police officer.

huh why is a violent criminal who risks spending several years in prison even allowed out?
No risk of flight? Really?

The title made me think he was stabbed to death and resuscitated, 20 times.
 
friendship heights is a really fancy/rich/safe area as well on the safer part of the metro. but these looney's can just get on anywhere and ride anywhere.

Widely reported in the so-called liberal media here-probably because the victim was a former intern for a CT politician.

Question for the OP (besides the obvious one as to whether English is your primary language)-does the fact that this was a black on white crime make it newsworthy? Would you express the same trite partisanship rage if both involved were black (or white)? Or are all blacks, like Mexicans, murderers and rapists?

I'm quite sure there are many, many vicious crimes that happen that aren't reported nationally. Otherwise the daily news would be nothing but a recital of the day's body count.

Woah, you mean he did this horrible crime and he's not being charged and they let him free? ... Wait, no, the article says he's been charged with first-degree murder. Seems like this is 100% different from the situations that keep occurring where a white man kills a black man and is never even charged. Hmm ... guess you guys are just jackasses that don't understand how this is completely unrelated to situations like Baltimore.

Yep, what we need are iris scanners like Minority Report. If you have an outstanding warrant, you are immediately detained and apprehended.

You are dodging the question: why isn't he being charged with a federal hate crime as well?

The fact that a white man was targeted by a black should make this a federal hate crime in addition to 1st degree. Let's not leave out this trivial detail.

You are right, it is 100% different than most of the articles trying to stir up hate. It would have come a little closer though if the victim had killed the attacker. Your Baltimore example doesn't even fit your own argument. There were several people charged.

Why would he be? There is no evidence (at least not in that article) to indicate the crime was racially motivated. Sounds like a robbery gone wrong (and one gone wrong, in no small part, because the robber was mentally ill and/or on drugs). This is an awful case but I see nothing to indicate it was a hate crime.
