Anyhow, I don't understand the outrage here. Millions of puppies are euthanized in animal shelters. But if a private citizen does it, it is suddenly evil?

His methods were crude, but no less humane than gassing them.

And that is the real issue here.

Some of our tax dollars go to the capture, confinement, & eventual destruction of stray/unwanted animals. Unfortunately there is no better way to control the animal population.

This is no different, & it's much cheaper.

I do question his choice of weapons, .38 is overkill for killing puppies. .22 LR would work fine.

:p

Also, this guy qualifies for a Darwin Award...

Um, I don't think a shot to the wrist has disabled his ability to reproduce. Thus he doesn't even come close to qualifying for a Darwin Award.

Thank you. I guess some people just don't get the basic concept of a Darwin Award, and perhaps Darwinism itself.

Shooting them is about as humane as it gets.

Seriously. Now they'll go sit in a cage for a couple weeks, and then they'll be poisoned. So much better!

Only if he smothered them in gravy.......:)

Seriously,
There is a big difference in shooting an animal for food and shooting
one to just "get rid of it".

I see plenty of dogs that have been turned out running along the roads
in my area and the way most of them look it would have been more
human if someone would have shot them instead of letting them
get run over or dying of starvation.

I agree.. When no one adopts these dogs what do you think the animal shelter will do? INCENERATE THEM!

I don't like needles so I'd take the gunshot.

How many of you complainers are willing to go down to the animal shelter today and adopt a dog that is on his last day? There was a call on the radio talking about a dog at a shelter near me that will be put down tonight if no one adopts him today.

Easy for so many of you to condemn the man, but are you willing to adopt a dog right now to help the situation?

You're an idiot, that has nothing to do with the topic, and I award you zero points for even attempting to be clever.

There are no kill shelters and if he would have taken them to the shelter atleast they would have had a chance. One good thing about this is he guaranteed the remaining puppies will be adopted.

Especially "Shooter". Talk about a kick-ass watch dog. :)
