What ever happened to using a blunt object or something?

I don't like spider webs, really odd phobia of mine, but I just use a stick or broom or something to remove them. If I see a lone spider and no web I just smack it with my hand or foot (whatever is easier given the situation) and call it a day.

If the situation allows me to actually grab the spider with two fingers I'll squish it that way so I don't make a mess on the wall or floor. Though usually I just smack them because it's more fun. You can actually feel the really big ones crush and it takes a half decent amount of effort to consider their size.

Had to change that light bulb. While fire did come to mind, I used a broom instead.

Probably one of the biggest spiders I've found in town. Seen bigger ones at camp though, the outhouse is notorious for having ridiculously huge ones. Always have to swat the air with a broom to ensure there's no webs. Double check the toilet seat too.

I stopped squishing bugs. The cleanup is nasty and too much work. You can just trap them between a large CD spindle cover and cardboard and take it outside or RAID them. Even caught flies and mosquitoes in the house this way.

RAID works great, I never get any bugs in my servers because of it.

Firefighters say the man who rented the house
So he's one of those guys who thinks renting is cheaper than buying, and that landlords actually have negative cash flow? That explains a lot. I wonder if he's also a tea party supporter who holds one of those "don't touch medicare" signs.

I wonder what the lease says about torching the property?
It's only "Jewish lighting" if you burn your own house down. Allowing stupid people to rent it might be a legal loophole.
