I don't think there is anything wrong with being a stay-at-home dad. But I agree with the rest of what you said.

You are a fvcking ass clown with your stupid ass comments at the end. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with being a stay at home dad. I know that I will probably end up being one myself. My fiancee is getting her PhD will most likely have a much better job than me. We both feel that one parent should at least raise our child. That leaves one of us to do it. It only makes sense to us that it is the person that makes the least money. There are reasons for a father to be the parent at home. You are probably one of the idiots that you should just throw a kid in day care even if the parents can afford to take care of the kid themselves. You are a jackass for making stupid comments like that.

Now as for the dealership, they should have done something to try and make the guy happy. Give him the car? No but they shouldn't have been so stupid in handling the situation.

So he did. And the airline honored it.

What did he do with all of the yogurt?

It wasn't yogurt but instant pudding, and you had to send in all the barcodes. As he didn't have time to rip thousands of barcodes off the packets he gave it to the local salvation army or something in trade for them ripping off the barcodes.

No I work days and my wife works nights so someone is always home. But your gonna find without a career you'll be a loser like him with sh1tty self-esteem unless your rich. All the guys will call you a loser and so will your mother-in-law😉 Don't forget Jerry Springer is not reality.

You guys ever read that one about a coupon in a billboard for a free truck? A guy went up to go get the whole thing and went to the dealer... needless to say... as shocked as they were... they gave him a car. 🙂 I think i read it in one of those guy magazines like FHM, Stuff... one of those. 🙂

Wow what a LOVELY relationship. Now since you work days and your wife works night that means your relationship suffers. I HAVE NO problem with that if that is what it takes to make ends meet. I find it a problem if you can live nicely without both parent working. I have always felt that money isn't the most important thing. Money is only important when you don't have it. I come from a single parent home where my mom only worked enough to make ends meet so she could spend time with me. What did that mean? We were not well off but I became a better person because of it. Many of my friends had both parents work when they didn't need to. I will say they didn't turn out nearly as well as I did with only one parent.

I know that we will be able to live nicely off one salary. With that in mind I would rather have a quality relationship with both my wife AND child. I will not sacrifice either for a job unless it is absolutely neccessary.

You can call me a loser ALL you want but guess what? I don't two sh*t what a person like yourself thinks. The problem with the american family is realized by parents not being at home with their kids and married couples not spending time together.

We need more people in this country that take parenting seriously. I am proud to see you do that. You have sacrificed something for your child which is wonderful. I just don't see myself needing to sacrifice my marriage to spend time with my child. I will sacrifice a career which isn't nearly as important as family if you can live without it.

BTW I don't get the Jerry Springer comment 🙂 I avoid that retarded show.

Also if I do end up being the bread winner I have no problem being the parent with the career. My objective is not to get out of a career but to raise my child in a way that I feel is correct. My fiancee and I both feel the same way.

i am surprised you havent heard this one. This was a while a go though.

had he sued and won, that would be another blow to the US justice system, which is pretty much characterized as "you can pretty much sue for every kinda of ridiculous sh1t and win"

good thing they told him to shovel it up his a$$, i gotta admit the guy is pretty creative, but a little creativity doesnt deserver a 40k car for nothing.

Gentlemen gentlemen...think of the CHILDREN! 😉

BTW: I'm on Codewiz's side on this one. My wife and I agreed that we never wanted our kids in daycare if we could afford it, nor do we want them to be latchkey kids.

BTW2: I would stay home to take care of my kids IN A HEARTBEAT. And anybody who thinks I would be a "pansy" or a "loser" for doing so prolly needs to take a LONG HARD look in the mirror. :frown:

No staying at home as a man and expecting a woman to pay the bills does...But I guess it's not much differnent than being raised entirly by a woman so I can't blame him really. Behavior is learned. I take it back since it's only my opinion and probably too much my father talking.

Codewiz-thoughtful post, maybe your right. It just goes against everything I was tought.

OK, think about it this way. We do not want our kids to become latch key that never see their parents. I have a decent job and make (for arguments sake) $43K/year, my wife who gets her PhD can make $120K (or more) per year if she can so it full time. Does it make financial sense for me to get my hair all on end and say I don't care, I am going to work. No it doesn't because it hurts the entire family.

I am just as macho as the next guy...but just because I choose to stay home for a lenght of time does not make me any less of a man. If I had the chance to do it I would, but then again instead of my daughter going to the zoo and to the library she would have her own motocross bike and we would be on the sea doo every day in the summer.

Since I see men and women have an equal choice/right in have a career or raising their kids. By what you saying, are all those women whom choose raising a proper family over careers are idiot? Or do you applied your idiot double standard and say it is ok for women to stay at home and raise their kids?

Carbonyl,

If you haven't realized, women are considered OUR EQUAL. I guess you have missed that. I had PLENTY of male figures in my life. My grandfather was a HUGE role model for me. He was a doctor so I ended up spending a lot time with him in his office. I guess I am just lucky I didn't brainwashed into thinking retarded ideas like your father has done with you. My grandfather did believe that the woman should stay at home with the kids. But his views were affected by his time period. My grandmother never had a career so there was no choice but for her to stay at home with the kids. I have just realized that what worked 45 years ago doesn't mean it will work in today's society.

You can hang on to your out of date views and live your life that way. It is your life and I will not look down on your decisions so don't try and look down on mine. We all have opinions and I respectfully disagree with yours.

I apply my idiot double standard. Woman have the brunt of putting up with me 😛 and having the kids and that should be enough where she does'nt have to work if she does'nt want to. Her choice.

I hate to tell you but a marriage is between two people. It isn't just ONE person's decision to have a family. It isn't just one person's decision if the wife should work. It is the couple's decision on who is the bread winner. In today's society the woman can very well be the bread winner so if the couple decides that one parent is staying at home. Why should the woman stay at home when she has the better career???????????????

I thinkhe shoudl have gotten the car. there was no disclaimer saying only 1 cupon per person.

its just like that guy with pepsi points and teh harrier jump jet. He sued pepsi and they gave him the cash equivlent of teh jet IIRC cause teh army wouldent let him have one.

I think this is pretty cool. In a business world where tons of companies have these "great" deals but always have the "fine print" at the bottom that they assume the customer won't read that lists all the clauses and such usually screwing the customer who "thought" they were getting one deal until they actually read the fine print, this place apparently wasn't that careful and someone got them.

It's a toss up, yes a $40k car for something is probably unreasonable but if something is in writing stating $200 off, not putting limit 1 coupon per customer seems like very sloppy practice on the dealerships part. I'd like to hear the result of this case down the road if someone would post it cuz I"ll probably forget 🙂

I hate to tell you but a marriage is between two people. It isn't just ONE person's decision to have a family
Really? Why partonizse I've been married going on 9 wonderful years I would'nt change anything. And I'm all for woman rights and AA. I like to see women presidents of corps we need many more. Of course it's communal discision making everything is in a successful relationship. I was pointing out how anyone, not just a man but a man potentially more so, would have a problem not having a career and staying at home while the other spouse works. It's been documented even amoung women they have depression cause of staying-at-home. That's one of the primary reasons mine choose to go back to work after our third son.

It isn't just one person's decision if the wife should work.
Once again it's her choice. I know I'm working since I would'nt be able to live heathly without it.

Why should the woman stay at home when she has the better career???????????????

I've never implied that nor would I. No woman should'nt do anything she doesnt want to.

nah, this isn't very ross-like... this is more PAB. except he would have bought ever paper in town and tried to get every vehicle on the lot.

the miles thing is different. AA was selling those miles to healthy choice. i'm surprised that there wasn't a limit on them though, i've seen similar offers on cereal boxes
