So did Firewire's when it first came out, and now they're $2 ea. Don't worry about the cabling; it will drop like a rock shortly.

My uses:
External Raid enclosure
Cheaper monitors to daisy chain
Faster transfers between Macs (My personal MBP and my work MBP) They'll both have SSDs come monday

I'm pretty sure im missing something.
