Some close-minded mofos on here for sure. I would punch myself in the face if I kept the attitude of not trying food that didn't look good to me from childhood. I would have missed out on sushi, shrimp in general, kiwi, and many others. So glad I got over that...

Yet post a pic of any dish they aren't intimately familiar with and they run off with their dicks between their legs. May not exactly be my thing OP but much if not most of it looks good eating! When it comes to Chinese food (I'm 1/2 Chinese) I'm more for Szechuan style food personally. I don't shy away from any food really and I'll try just about ANYTHING to see if I like it!

A camera flash will do bad things to just about the best of dishes. Could turn the best food in the world into the blandest looking pile of mush. I HATE using the flash when taking pictures!

It might be that. I've eaten everything in that dish separately before, but that floating pile of oil was not very appetizing looking to me

Me too, that is why I have a tripod and use my timer. I miss my film camera with it's remote trigger and manual aperture settings.

As for weird food, I eat quite a bit of menudo. After that, I was told I was gross and that is was made from cow stomach. I asked what their point was, at it still tastes just as good as before I knew it was made from tripe. Some people have some really strange hang-ups over food, IMO.
