Man! Subscribing to AT is worth it!!

Those of you claiming the subscriber forums are faster, please fill me in as to what kind of connection you have now . . . The forums load in no more than 1-2 seconds every time i open a thread, new forum, etc. I'm on cable with 800-1200K down. if you had similar speeds, then are the forums loading in microseconds?

I seriously experienced no increase in speed from regular forums to subscriber forums.

Are you on a 300 baud modem or something? I'm on cable, and the difference is significant.

Since someone mentioned ICMP packets -- this from my firewall log:

The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (ICMP Unreachable) from forums.anandtech.com (216.151.100.125).
Occurred: 72 times between 03/12/01 4:34:06 AM and 03/12/01 4:38:02 AM

The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (ICMP Unreachable) from anandtech.com (216.151.100.123).
Occurred: 8 times between 03/12/01 4:37:30 AM and 03/12/01 4:37:52 AM

Both Zuni and Anand replied to my comments in the Forum Issues forum, and now recognize that there is indeed a problem. They suspect hardware to be the cause.

Hopefully they'll have this annoying little bug ironed out in no time
