So many badasses in this thread - I wonder what these ninjas would do in real life if some babbling nutcase was waving around a big fuck off knife and covered in blood.

Hey Slicksnake, this one is for you.

You better not pull that knife crap on someone with me around, or you will find out how much of a badass I am. I have beat and kicked the shit out of delinquents pulling knifes on me before, and I won't even flinch about doing it again. You just choose to be a coward, and naturally assume everyone else is, too. You can't fathom helping anyone else in a life threatening situation, and I can. That's why I am on a fire department, and your not. Most chicken shits run from fires, and I run into fires. Tell me who the coward is again? That's what I thought.

Hahaha! Yeah, whatever you say Jean Claude.

Ran into any burning buildings lately, Stinky? I think the real cowards here are pretty much making themselves obvious. Don't you, Stink?

In my experience, those that talk themselves up the most usually have nothing. Sorry buddy, I think you're all talk and nothing will change my opinion.

Btw, nice to know you think people that aren't trained or have the equipment to fight fires are "chickenshits" because they run away from it. Is that the normal attitude from firefighters?

Really, is that so? Sorry to hear about your limited exposure to the real world out there. Maybe if you left the basement once in a while, that view would change. While I am sure there are many internet boasters out there, I think I gave enough conditions I would not fight in to move past the BS phase. Thanks for trying to troll post and save your worthless opinion anyway, though.

By using chicken shit I was referring to the natural inclination to run away from a fire, not towards it. You can twist the chicken shit comment however it suits you to. Most people are afraid of fire, and would not go into it with or without gear or training. That's just the way it is. You can get burned alive wearing gear with training in a fire. You are not fire proof. And my comment stands. Like it or not.

No, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night!

Which makes me imminently qualified to post here based on some of the posters, unfortunately.

I saw a guys car catch on fire at a gas station once, he was freaking out and trying to get his drum kit out of the trunk. I ran inside the store and took the fire extinguishers to try to put it out. It was an engine fire though and we could not get the damn hood up because it was hot as fuck. So we squirted down the cracks and dowsed the bottom of the engine, it kinda helped. Then the real firefighters showed up with these big ass fire proof mits and they just picked up the hood and put it out. it was awesome.

But things like this make me hope that I would be somewhat helpful if I saw a murder happening. I have also stopped fights at clubs, though most people want to be stopped.

This kid was killed for no reason, this is very sad. I really feel bad for his family and friends.

his sanity is in question, meaning that it was not premeditated. Therefore its 2nd degree murder, not first.

Assuming conviction, he could potentially be paroled in only 10 years? Is there no life without parole in Canada? That's almost unbelievable.

Nah, his ego and wild imagination is bigger than those of Chuck Norris'.
However, if you take a keyboard away from him, I bet he'd go to his own corner and start crying.

Executing or putting an mentally insane person in real prison will cause an uproar among the hippies.

Wow. 36 people and NO ONE HELPED? WHAT IS THIS WORLD COMING TO.
it's really odd. i feel terrible for the victim and the victim's family... but my immediate second thought is... why? why couldn't someone have done something? makes you wonder if there isn't more to this story. one knife-wielding guy vs. 36...

:(

The average joe out there is inherently a coward and will think of self preservation first. Doesn't surprise me the least that when something happens the first thing someone is going to do is get the hell out of there. Takes one person to run and everyone is going to follow suit. I'd imagine though if any one of them had some law enforcement/combat training it would have been different.

Yeah I read about this yesterday. That is just...insane. We're talking serial killer behaviour here.

This probably has nothing to do with the fact that it's your job.

I get paid to do different work. What's the point in trying to fight a fire when I can casually stroll out of the office, and enjoy a cigarette in the parking lot, while you run in and do your thing.

Took the words right out of my mind. I don't care how accurate someone is with a gun. The bullet will probably pass right through the seats and hit someone.
