sad, very sad and yet another reason that if there were a legal concealed carry permit holder had a gun this could have been prevented.

no, he was stating that if someone had a gun to shoot the nut, less would have been hurt. Believe it or not, criminals will always have weapons, even if they do not have permits to carry them(Shocking, eh?)Originally posted by: KnightBreed

I understood what he meant. If sane people can carry concealed weapons, so can nutjobs like this, and it certainly makes it easier for them.
This truly sucks. 
Why do voices in people's heads always tell them to go kill people? Why doesn't a voice ever say, "Go take a sh!t on the salad bar at Wendy's"......

These voices usually manifest themselves from deep-rooted anger toward other people - often times from past experiences (being molested as a child, for example). Somebody taking "a sh!t on the salad bar at Wendy's" likely won't appease this manifested voice. Sorry but you are so wrong, so wrong, and yes thank you, my statement was brilliant. Now if you look back at my post you will note that I said if someone were legally carrying a gun, now how many times do you know of that criminals carry guns legally? And don't you even think for a minute that if this guy wanted to have done this with a gun he could have gotten one, illegally. The same old tired argument by all the anti-gun folks is getting so old. I mean it is very simple, just as drugs are illegal right now if guns are ever made illegal to own by law abiding citizens that isn't going to keep the criminals form getting them.

We don't know how long this person has been planning the attack. I doubt he woke up one morning and decided, "Hey, let's go stab children at the local church!" Even crazy people have some concept of time and patience.
And this has officially turned into a gun "legalize/illegallize gun" debate.
That certainly wasn't my intent.

Bad guys with weapons are always stopped by good guys with weapons. Since there are many more good guys than bad guys, everyone should be armed. My grandmother, unarmed, is simply another victim. The same could be said for me. While a knife is better than bare hands, nothing currently available is better than the handgun for defense. Pepper spray, for example, does not work in the rain, or in strong wind.
