I've never seen anyone with any carbine-sized gun strapped to their back going around shopping or anything, but nobody's really bothered by pistols. Concealed carry is hard, and they can open carry in my state.

We've grown up around it, so meh. It's not, "OMG he's got a gun! What's he going to do with it?!" It's, "OK, if anything happens, I want to run behind that guy."

Hey how can I take out a drone before it blows up my house? :whiste:

Shoot the pilot on his way into work, kidnap members of the pilot's family, hit the munitions truck\train with an IED, the possibilities are endless. If you think we faced a challenge with the Iraq and Afghanistan insurgencies, imagine how much better resourced and clever a domestic insurgency would be.

This thread is just full of fail. I wonder how calm some of the posters here would be if it was an arab, or maybe 2 or 3 walking through the mall with ar-15's strapped to their backs. Lol.

the second deadliest attack on US Soil was 2 white dudes, what's your point?

I would not be surprised if he had a CCW and a person can potentially do a lot more damage with a rifle than a glock even if it's just a .223 / 5.56 mm round. The velocity of the round as it leaves the muzzle has a lot to do with this.

However, that is a good point why open carry when you have a CCW if JC Penny asshat did have one. Does anyone know?

depends, .223 is tiny, and over penetrating is better for the shootee than shooter. good 9mm JHPs are much heavier than .225, 55gr vs 147gr

the point is....he was making a point

Don't argue with idiots, you'll just end up frustrated. These morons that believe small arms can't overthrow a government think the only way to stop a tank is to face it head on.

You don't seriously think that between Obama and Bush there hasn't already been 12 years of planning taking over the USA do you? I would still be confident in Americans ability to resist takeover from the government, but the government will be far more prepared than they were in Iraq and Afghanistan.

That's why they teach you to aim for center mass with the M-16. The center of the chest is a good place to do a serious amount of damage even if the .223 round over penetrates if you've hit someone in the chest there's a good chance of damaged ribcage bones or the round doing incapacitating or fatal damage to a lung or other vital organ.

All this talk of modern American civil war is rather silly. For starters, while our politics can be divisive, Americans generally are pretty much tied together in one form or another, considering the age we're living in. And while the politics are divided, only the crazy whackos are the ones calling to secede, and most rational conservatives choose to distant themselves from the nutjobs. A modern American Civil War is as likely as us getting invaded by extra terrestrials. Second, even if the conservatives want a civil war, they need to rally under a single leadership, and I have yet to see anyone sane enough to even lead the revolt. Alex Jones? Sure...

True, but unless the round is truly inadequate, then if you hit someone in the chest it's very likely they'll be badly injured. And it doesn't change what I said in the post before this one. Even with over-penetration if someone is hit in the chest with almost any rifle round they're probably not going to have a good day.

While there are certain handgun rounds that can do more damage than the .223 / 5.56 I'd still be more likely to worry about the person with the AR-15 than the person with the handgun.

For one a standard magazine for the AR-15/M-16 is more likely to contain more rounds than a pistol with standard magazine (i.e. one that came with the pistol rather than an extended magazine bought separately).

I think people are more likely to be subjegated by their dependence on creature comforts than by their own military. If honey boo-boo doesn't come on the satellite dish tonight and papa johns won't deliver the pizza, most people will give in to anything to get it back.

So keeping PBS alive is actually a national security issue. Excellent point good fellow.

Your right, but in theory, one could carry more pistol mags as thry are smaller

You ARE such an idiot/asshat. Its either YOUR way, or extreme conservatives. Your so biased its not even funny. noone said a damn thing about a civil war breaking out? Yet you continue to preach that if noone agrees with your socialistic "progressivist" views, then they are a radical extreme rightest "nutjob". You are a scumbag. Worthless. This all started because of the whole idea that noone has the right to infringe on anyone elses right to bear any arms. Period. And yet you continue to say guns are bad and blahblahblah... move out man. Get out of here.

Again, the second amendment is about having the ABILITY to take back our country from a tyrannical government if NEED BE. Noone said anything about a damn civil war. You are the nutjob. As much as you argue and bitch back and forth, youd think YOU were the most patriotic person on here... but your not. Your part of the problem with America today. No it has NOTHING to do with conservitism. It has to do with upholding the original constitution and preserving OUR rights that separate us from EVERY other country on the planet. You, in some way, shape, or form, indirectly, support the dissolving of our country into nothing more than what can basically be described as a communist state..

Well its not MY point of view, its the goddamn 2nd amendment. Second, that sigarros dousch is an idiot and has been insulting anyone that disagrees with him since the get go.

Im not trying to convince any of you idiots that im right, because its not about me its about OUR rights. Period.

You are WRONG if you support not having weapons period. And If you support this new deal where they are trying ro get the banks to stop doing business with gun manufacturers, then you are an enemy to the people of the united states. The government is ultimately trying to disarm us. If you can't see that then you are blinded by your own ignorance.

They are offering $2000 tax credit for anyone that turns in their assault weapon. Have you actually read the bill?
Do you know what they are considering to be an "assault" weapon?! They are also talking about increasing the list as well... awesome, so my 12g Mossberg is an assault weapon because it has a pistol grip and holds more than six shells?!? (Sarcasm)

I think they should pass a law that says a person has to be of at least average IQ to be able to purchase or own a firearm, that should eliminate most of the issues :)

yet again, you can't watch and listen to a video.

I'm going from memory here, but i believe it stated he is or was in the military, so your whole 'untrained' part goes out the window

and yes, speaking for myself, if i see someone with a holstered, un-loaded weapon, I have no worries about the person.

 I know guys who were "in the military" and all they did was maintnance work on aircraft.

True, but all Soldiers, Marines go through basic, and basic teaches everyone of them shooting, and infantry drills no matter their MOS.

Exactly. In 2003 and a few other occurances, marine cooks and other non green sides were being pulled to fill slots in rifle squads. Every Marine is a rifleman first.

Other example two years ago, taliban fighters climbed through the wire and started attacking a uav airfield... those were ALL airwingers... they had to pick up their weapons and fight... and they were grease monkeys :)

I think we have met mutual agreement. But how would you test IQ? Do mental illnesses automatically count you out? What about sicknesses? What if someone has ADD/ADHD?

Fyi. The "original" constitution did not include the 2nd Amendment. Hence the moniker "amendment". So you can't argue the sacrosanct of both the 2nd amendment and the original constitution.

And your posts may be served better with less emotion (passion) or whatever you may call it. I think it's affecting your ability to make sense.

Well*It was "adopted" on December 15, 1791 along with the first amendment. During the first 8 yrs of having an actual leader (president washington, 1788-1796)we were still trying to figure out the differences between our elbows and our dick holes.
The original constitution lasted for about 3 years. Why don't you quit trying to discect what I say for specifics and just go with it Because you knew what I meant, you just have nothing else better to do.

Just go with it because you're right and everyone else are closet gun lovers who only take their guns out on weekends to show off to their friends right? :awe:
