A Dane County Sheriff's detective says in court documents that Steven Cowan, of the rural town of Vermont, felt 20-year-old Bristol Palin was not a good dancer and was only on the "Dancing with the Stars" because of her famous mother, the Republican former vice presidential candidate.

Apparently the guy does not know the premise of the show.

Okay, maybe I'd watch Dancing with the Dead Stars, but not Hot Monkey Sex with the Dead Stars. You have to draw the line somewhere.

I would have bet money there was no overlap between the Group of men who own shotguns and the Group of men who watch dancing with the stars. Guess I would have lost money . . .

How is this newsworthy?

If anything because it's a leftist nutjob with a gun, instead of the stereotypical radical right winger with a gun.

Never underesitmate the power of who Rumpole called She Who Must Be Obeyed.

But personally I think watching shows like that actively destroy brain cells. My sympathies with the shooter.

People cast dispersion on Bristol because they can't stand her mother. The tea party responds by launching a campaign to help Bristol win. It's basically a war by proxy for both sides, which is patently stupid.

Lets face it, if Bristol was not Sarah's daughter nobody would give a crap and she wouldn't be on the show.

Was it Denni who voted for Bristol again?

Yes. All five votes. She strikes a chord in me like Kelly did last year. Plus she's not a bad dancer, after all she got three 9s and three 8s on Monday. Finally, a lot of Brandy's fans who complained on Twitter did not bother to vote. Their bad. Some black people also complained in tweets that the show is biased towards white stars, citing Mia's (who's half-white IIRC), Brandy's and Lil Kim's eliminations as examples, even though there have been some nonwhite winners in the past.

Past winners:

Season 1: Kelly Monaco and Alec Mazo
Season 2: Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke
Season 3: Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke
Season 4: Apolo Anton Ohno and Julianne Hough
Season 5: Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough
Season 6: Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark Ballas
Season 7: Brooke Burke and Derek Hough
Season 8: Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas
Season 9: Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson

One thing that probably played against Brandy is that she took this too seriously and became overly competitive as she somehow saw in the program a way to rejuvenate her career after two album flops. She came across as a bit arrogant in the end and that was a turn off. Compare this with Kristi Yamaguchi, who was probably the best ever on that show but always remained humble and sweet while putting in the hard work needed to win.

I've liked Brandi since she was a teenage singer but this late in the season all my votes go to Bristol. Would have been tougher for me to choose if Jennifer Grey would have been paired with Max as I like them both too. However, she is paired with that douchebag Derek and my dislike of him makes it unlikely that I'll vote for his partner.

With the judges scores counting for 50%, Bristol overcame a 7 point deficit so Brandy's support was definitely lacking. Finally, it wasn't just Bristol that bested Brandy in terms of votes. Kyles and Jennifer did too since they too were behind her after the judges had awarded their points.

Got a feeling that Derek might win a third title next week though... The votes of Brandy's fans will probably migrate to Jennifer.

Question... do they issue man-cards in Canada?

Heh... If I had the choice between watching only Dancing With The Stars and shooting the TV, I'd probably shoot the TV as well!

Seriously... why do people watch that crap!

I say this in all sincerity- I have never heard of the show before now. I've watched television at home three times in two years and that was for major sports events.

That's not to say I haven't seen any programming, but I have my main computer hooked up to the television and will watch Netflix streaming vids and Hulu, but that means I select what I watch. I occasionally will see something that catches my eye and will watch it but turning it on and staring at it. Nope. No cable and the antenna is an indoor one in the garage somewhere.

Actually, I like bit o' meat on them bonez, but I prefer it if they know how to move... and have some semblance of brainz...

But, isn't it ironically fitting, that America's political fortunes are fought on DWTS...

...Hopefully the Peter Principle will kick in, and Reality TV will prove to be the Palin Family's level of incompetence. They already quit at governance, once.

I wonder how board I would have to be before I watched such a low class, Blah, Blah program. Too bad there is nothing on television worth watching. That is why al-gore invented the Internet.
