A man was sentenced to listen to four hours of polka king Frankie Yankovic's greatest hits for driving through the city with his windows rolled down and his truck's stereo blaring.

That sentence should be classified as CRUEL AND UNUSUAL.. i'd sue the city for damages..

From the judge's private collection no doubt.

:D

Think about this, the punnishment really does fit the "crime".

around here you can play it as loud as you want untill 10 at night till 7(i think, might be 6 or 8) in the monring. My buddy likes going up beside cops and punding his system, and it can pound, 2 RF 12" subs(the pro class ones with 3" excursion and twin voice coils) Powered by a RF 600w amp. It can shake the windows on near buy cars, thats gotta piss the cops off.

I personally think the punishment was very accurate -- this demonstrates exactly how it feels to listen to someone else's kind of music. I cannot stand when some dumb teenager plays his music "for everyone to enjoy", without giving a thought to other people's tastes or desires.
Had I been that judge, I would've either played Country (recorded back in the '30s, '40s, etc. I have a full CD of that stuff which was given to me for free, and I literally cringe every time I hear one of those songs -- they're that horrible. If you don't believe me, download "Eighteen Hammers" by Johnny Lee Moore & 12 Mississippi Penitentiary Convicts.
Or, I would've played my favorite genre: Classical. 'Twould be interesting to see how long that guy would last. :D

It doesn't matter anyway. If he keeps playing his music that loud he won't be able to hear any music in a few years.

Actually, a judge in detroit did this last summer to some kid. They had lots of news stations showing clips of him sitting in this room listening to Hank Williams or something. It was pretty funny

<--Car stereo too pitiful for loud listening

And rightfully so your buddy will receive no leniency if the cops ever pull him over. Hes just asking for a pissed off cop to pull him over and accuse him of "erratic driving".

Aside from annoying others, so many people are listening to really loud music in a confined space, such as a car, that we are literally seeing a generation of hearing impared people.

Something to consider before you sentence yourself to the deaf penalty. :Q
