I don't know; Thinking about a big mac is making my mouth water actually. I haven't eaten one of those in years. Lately, I've been about the Whopper Jr's. Actually, one of those could hit the spot also...

Damn it, now i'm freakin hungry!

23K big macs over roughly 13.1K days = 1.755 big macs per day

That's the problem with averaging it out. He could have started slowly, only going there once a week, but maybe he has ramped it up considerably in the later years. Or during certain periods he ate obsessively high numbers.

it says he only missed one day since he started keeping track

Ok well he must have only had 1 on a lot of days to make it possible to have months where he ate 8 per day.

I give up...when and why does one start counting such things?

The 'why' is presumably explained by his having OCD.

Works out at 1-and-a-quarter a day every day for 50 years. Unless he's equally obsessive about being physically very active, I'm surprised he hasn't developed heart disease by now.

Why? Its not like Big Macs are that bad nutritionally. If he's skipping fries/soft drinks he's cutting out most of the actual negative of typical fast food meals as far as empty nutrition goes. I'd wager he eats healthier than a lot of people that don't eat any fast food at all.

There's a part of the video that delves into health and he's probably healthier than you. I know he's healthier than I am.

Since it doesn't have bacon or other meats that would have nitrates for preservatives he's likely missed out on the cancer from that. Same with the heavy metal accumulation if he was eating a fish sandwich instead. And its likely healthier than a fried chicken sandwich.

I'm more surprised he hasn't burned out on them, or hasn't had enough bad ones that he either got sick from or tasted bad enough that he was like "nah, think I'm good for a bit". Oh, I saw him pull one out of a microwave. So he has no taste buds.

"He used to get 2 per day since 1972, but since he retired he spends more on gas than the food, so he has now switched to getting 6 or 8 each time he comes in on Monday and Thursday. I wouldn't be able to handle a fresh Big Mac everyday for a month (actually I don't think I could do a fresh good burger every day for a month even), can't even imagine 3 day old one reheated in a microwave.

You replied to a post from 2008. It's more like 2 a day for 50 years at his current total.

That's actually pretty impressive. You'd think he would have gotten sick of it after a while. I really enjoy fast food myself but I could see myself getting tired of it pretty fast if I was eating the same menu item every day for a while. Or heck, even different menu items, but every day.

It's also impressive he does not have health issues. He must be overall healthy lifestyle wise and supplementing with vitamins etc.

On his wiki page this part made me laugh: "Gorske had a single Burger King Whopper sandwich in 1984 and never ate one again"

Poor Burger King, that hurts lol.

Genetics play a huge role is how food effects us. For instance, my genetics are very high LDL, predisposition to heart disease and related problems. It is not a good idea to eat foods that compound the predisposition. My wife’s family is the opposite, perfect numbers. She could eat red meat and ice cream every day and still stay pretty healthy into her 70’s

Yeah, never rely on the edge cases. My gran smoked 60 fags a day from the age of 16 to when she died at (IIRC) 89.

Wow, that's impressive! I wonder if she inhaled? Cancer aside, I'd think 3packs/day would lead to lung degradation.

I mean she wasn't running around towards the end! In fact she didn't do a lot of running around when I was a kid. She used to send us kids off to get her ciggies, it was ok just to say "they are for my Nan" as an age verification in those days in Wales!

My sis went 15 years without seeing a dentist. No cavities or periodontits despite fairly regular starch or sweet consumption.

I got perio but zero cavities. She did however, eat eggs and cheese while I avoided them.
