Thanksgiving football, to be precise. Honestly, though, you can kinda' see how he confused a turducken with a turd ducking.

Turducken:

A turducken is a dish consisting of a de-boned chicken stuffed into a de-boned duck, which itself is stuffed into a de-boned turkey. The word turducken is a portmanteau of turkey, duck, and chicken or hen. The dish is a form of engastration, a recipe method in which one animal is stuffed inside the gastric passage of another.[1]

The thoracic cavity of the chicken/game hen and the rest of the gaps are stuffed, sometimes with a highly seasoned breadcrumb mixture or sausage meat, although some versions have a different stuffing for each bird. The result is a fairly solid layered poultry dish, suitable for cooking by braising, roasting, grilling, or barbecuing.

Whereas turd ducking is far less tasty, and rarely done on holidays. ;)

What kind of septic tanks can you just fall into and get stuck?

Apparently, septic tanks with a removable lid.

From the local newspaper:

http://www.modbee.com/2012/07/31/23...tic-tank-to-avoid.html#storylink=omni_popular

MODESTO -- To avoid arrest, a man in south Modesto crawled through a small hole in the ground and into a septic tank behind a motel on Ninth Street on Tuesday.

About 8 a.m., Stanislaus County sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the Ninth Street Bridge for a report of a man obstructing traffic, Sgt. Anthony Bejaran said.

They found him several blocks south of the bridge, lying in the parking lot in front of the Arrow Inn.

As the deputies approached, the man got up and ran behind the motel, where they temporarily lost sight of him.

Then one of the deputies noticed a small hole in the ground, next to which was a concrete cover. The hole was no more than 18 inches in diameter, but the man had wriggled his way through it and into the septic tank below.

The opening to the septic tank normally is obscured, and Bejaran believes the man previously pegged it as a hiding space or perhaps even had used it in the past.

"He had to have known it was there," he said. "I can't see that being a spur-of-the-moment decision."

Ceres firefighters responded to the scene to extricate the man, but he didn't want to be rescued.

Battalion Chief Bryan Hunt estimates that the tank is about 7 feet deep and said the liquid inside it reached the man's shoulders.

Hunt said firefighters and deputies tried various negotiation methods to coax the man from the tank.

Potential for disease

Hunt warned him about the potential for contracting a disease. He offered him a rope to hoist him up and promised to hose him off when he was out.

The man declined and stayed "verbally combative" during the 30 minutes crews were on the scene, Hunt said. He told authorities he would leave the septic tank only if his mother told him to do so. Hunt called the man's mother and put her on speaker phone.

The man's mother sent his stepfather to the scene, at which point he emerged from the ground, lit a cigarette and refused to be hosed off.

Deputies chose not to arrest the man, but instead released him to his stepfather, who promised to take him to a hospital.

FWIW, this part of town is really the shits...it's where the druggies, crackwhores, and winos hang out.
The cops stay pretty busy in this area...prostitution stings, heroin busts, murders, gang-related crime, etc.

ROFL...thankfully, I have no stepson to hose down...my "natural" kids give me enough problems. :\

I'm sure that in a few days, more will come out about the guy...how he's suffering from some sort of depression or some other mental disorder.

(gawd knows, crawling into a septic tank to hide is NOT a sign of a healthy mind)

Apparently?

LOL, how do you think they are drained/pumped?

I dug up a few in my youth...they ALL have lids...most aren't quite as easily accessible though.

LOL, that cannot be a septic tank, it's way too close to a building/house.

 Old area, probably built before any "standards" were in effect.

The guy didn't "accidentally" fall in...he removed the lid and crawled in to hide.

This is in an old and poor part of town that hasn't been converted from septic tanks to sewer system yet. (it's actually in an unincorporated area in the county between two towns, yet still "part of Modesto")
The city residents have consistently refused tax increases to pay for improvements in those areas, improvements that are needed before the city will annex them, but they're poor areas and the residents don't want to pay for the improvements themselves.
