THE RSPCA is investigating the alleged torture of a kitten that was repeatedly smashed against a concrete step and thrown into a rubbish bin and then a bucket of water.

The attack on the 12-week-old kitten on Tuesday was apparently triggered by the animal defecating on a lounge room floor.

The RSPCA's animal ambulance had a police escort when it went to rescue the kitten from a property near Mount Druitt.

A 45-year-old man from Blackett will be interviewed by RSPCA officers about the alleged attack.

They are gathering evidence from witnesses. The RSPCA believes the kitten was smashed against a concrete step and thrown into a rubbish bin, from which it tried to crawl out.

It was then bashed against the step again and dunked in a bucket of water.

Anyone suspected of animal cruelty may be charged under the Aggravated Animal Cruelty law passed last October in response to a spate of attacks on kittens.

The kitten is being cared for at the RSPCA's Yagoona shelter, where staff have named her Katie. They say she has a suspected fractured pelvis, broken ribs, internal injuries, head trauma and missing front teeth.

"The vets are optimistic she'll make a complete recovery," said the RSPCA's chief inspector, David O'Shannessy.

How about someone crushes his head agaist concrete and throws him in the rubbish? I wonder if he was one who pulled wings off flies as a child ...

Kittens crap on the floor. It's what they do. If you can't deal with it, don't have one!

I kill kittens daily :(

EDIT: On a serious note, this act of cruelty is absolutely sickening. It's only a stone's throw away from turning into human cruelty.
