Man purposely infects 1500 with AIDS.

Calling himself 'Trashman' and speaking with an American accent, the masked man says he has infected between 1200 and 1500 unknowing victims with the devastating disease.

I hate to say this after this has already been posted... but I had serious doubts about his story from the start. I mean-- someone claims to not just having had sex with 1500 women but to have actually infected 1500 women with HIV-- how would he know how many of the women he slept with would get infected? And is it even believable that someone had sex with 1500 women-- that works out to a new woman every other day for 10 straight years-- and is NOT a porn star, professional athlete, or is otherwise famous with ladies? A few hundred I could see.. but not 1500.

I think he's using a proxy or someone acting as admin on his behalf. Other whois sites, show the regsistration and contact info to be in London, England.

You think his real identity is the one in London? That'd be suspcisious to me considering his site is hosted in the US, and from all accounts he has an American accent. According to this Whois, he hasn't update is record since December-- so if he's masking it he planned it out well in advance.

That and his numbers could be based off the fact that if he infects 1 girl that is slutty, hence sleeping with some guy without protection, will sleep around to at least another 5+ or so people and infect them before they get tested. i.e. chainreaction

I think this is not real. He is making a social statement regarding how these "hood" girls are leading reckless lifestyles which can have deadly consequences.

Second, even if he had unprotected sex with 1500 women, the chances of each being infected from one encounter are quite low.

In fact, if he did have sex with 1500 women I would be surprised if even 5 were infected.

I've worked with HIV+ people for years and can tell you that transmission rates among couple who were consistently safe was 0. Even couples who used the pull and pray method religiously never had an infection in my experience. And among couples who did not use condoms and bodily fluids were exchanged had quite a long period of no infection, and then the rates of transmission were still pretty low. Transmission rates went way up when other diseases were involved or rough sex was the norm. Which makes sense, because HIV has to have a direct route to the bloodstream for transmission to occur. An unhealthy or injured vagina means the chances of transmission skyrocket. But a healthy, uninjured vagina is simply very hard to infect. Now, this is my personal experience after nearly 20 years of working with HIV+ people. But from all that I have read it's the reality.
 
This is sick, but it is not new. Cases of people infected with AIDS who were deliberately trying to spread the disease have been reported for well over 10 years now. I believe the last one I heard about involved some guy sticking people with dirty needles at a club.

Are the chances of passing HIV from Female to Male greater than Male to Female?
 
This is actually quite genius the more I think about it. By taking the persona of someone allegedly infecting people he will directly impact the future behaviors of many women in regards to safe sex as they will think that there is someone out there that does this. I applaud his efforts although somewhat crude. This is going to have a far reaching impact I think.
 
Sounds pretty sick. Even if it is shens, I hope there is some way to punish him for the stunt.

Amused - I had no idea transmission rates were so low. Can you cite that?

Edit: 1500 or 15000?????
