The movie had numerous weaknesses, but in the end, it proved to be a very enjoyable bloodbath.

..and yes, I saw it in HD...and it KICKED ASS.

i enjoyed it a lot more when the girl was still dead. just a mindless revenging rampage...thens he's alive, and the movie has a purpose. boo.
 
I liked it but counldnt stand the cinematography, some of the worst I had ever seen. I guess i just don't like the gritty shakey feeling. Still a really good movie though.

Through the whole movie I had no doubt in my mind that she was actually dead, and the rest of the movie was just gonna be him kicking ass and taking names ("painting his masterpiece"). I was actually surprised to learn she was still alive, and that he had to trade his life. What was weird was the 3 or 4 times where they acted like they were going to execute him on the spot, and then they just decided to drive away... 😕.

Ditto..and what was with that Lord of the rings-esque gothic soundtrack that kicked in every once in a while
