man, metallica is back!!!

It's not MoP; Hammet seems timid with the guitar and years of abuse have taken their toll on Het's voice.

Still a very, very good album though, beats the hell out of St. Anger and Re / Load. Make sure to "acquire" the Guitar Hero III rip, as the retail CD sounds like complete shit.

Kirk is timid on the guitar? Are you serious? rofl. If anything, D.Magnetic showcases Kirk's skills like they should have been before all this Reload/St.Anger crap.

Solid album but there have been a lot better metal albums released this year so it dissapointed me.

such as?

name just about any metal band who has releases an album in 2008

ill go with In Flames

As stated in an other topic
I recently returned the new Metallica album, music was ok, but the sound was horrible...
And it seems i'm not the only one

Guitar hero version sound better

compare the samples

I'm in no way an audiofile, but I have 92bit mp3's that sound better...

I heard there is a GH rip torrent, gonna give it a try.
Hope they will release a "not so ground up" version...

Yep, I'm tempted to pay the $100 or whatever it is just to see The Sword. No desire to see Metallica again though.

I was tempted too. I saw them locally here about 18+ months ago in a small dive bar. They will tour again on a small scale (just wrapped up with Clutch which isn't HORRIBLE small, but certainly a better avenue then seeing them with Metallica).

I've never even heard of The Sword (see that rock over there? my house is under it) so if they're as good as this thread leads me to believe I'll be happily surprised 🙂

We get Lamb of God instead of Machine Head.

Nice, that would have been sweet to see them with Clutch. A buddy of mine has an extra ticket to Metallica, so I may just grab it off him, or I may just wait to see if The Sword tours on their own soon.

The new album is good, but it complete pales compared to their first full length.
Think stoner rock meets dungeons and dragons ala 1972
