$3K/carat? Unless the process is hideously expensive to make the things, it's still hideously overpriced.

I don't see where I can buy a 1 karat stone on there for $3. I tried adding every combination to the cart and they're all $600. $3 in materials, sure.

But they ain't sellin them for that.

What's the difference between these and those artificial diamonds that Wired magazine had a feature on recently, that were a few dollars / carat?

Colored diamonds are more expensive. I believe a very good quality natural 1 ct. yellow diamond goes for about 40k

what ugly diamonds are you buying?!?!

the clearer the diamond, the fewer inclusions, the less coloring in it, the more the cost.
