i am normally not a fan of horror movies... seriously i actually wish my friends would stop renting them all the time... but DAMN. this movie looks nice... i love that part in the trailer where the girl from american pie goes "maybe you should stick your head out and have a look" 🙂

i dunno... those kinda movies piss me off becuz the characters (most of them) are so dumb. and how the heck does jason keep coming back? btw... isn't jason the same as micheal meyers & leatherface?

yea that's true. i've only seen one other jason movie though... i have seen really few horror films, maybe that's why this still has appeal to me. besides, i relish the possibilty of taking a girl to see the movie 🙂
 
Oh trust me, it is pretty sweet (for a slasher flick, don't expect too many good lines)

It is a new movie to the theatres, yes... But the movie has been finished for a while. There was an internal/promotional copy that someone got(stole) a while ago and leaked to usenet/kazaa/<insert p2p program here>
 

Jason in a metallic "cybermask" is something so freaking stupid, I don't know what to say. Whoever thought that up should be shot. Hellraiser somewhat worked in space (Bloodline), but I'm pretty damn sure this one will suck mucho ass.

As a huge fan of the first Friday the 13th movies, I'm pretty sure I will hate this hollywoodized cr@p (I'm basing my opinion on the trailer).
 
i think it was actually released outside the US a year ago...it just suxorz so much that they were probably deciding whether or not to release it here
 
Actually, someone I know happened to stumble across a copy of this just yesterday as a matter of fact... 😛

I must say, if you're into campy horror films (Evil Dead, anyone?) this one GREAT! It makes fun of itself constantly and it's very funny. The death sequence of the two camping girl holograms had us both rolling on the floor.

Its been on the shelf for about three years. It was actually supposed to be released last Sept(same with the next Halloween), both were pushed back, not because of Sept 11 though, for umm other reasons. They sucked even more at one point.

Sucks though, they are making another Leatherface/Texas Chainsaw Masacre and the casting ugh....

Yes and no. It's been talked about for a long time, there's definite director interest out there to do it. I believe the companies that hold the rights to the characters are the ones saying no at this point.

I believe aliens vs. predator is the same way right now, but I heard that from a friend.

Usenet is the original way of saying newsgroups. Depending on your ISP you'll either have access to it or not for free, check your documentation or call the support line. They can tell you how to set them up. Think of usenet as a giant Anandtech forums. Each newsgroup would be the equivalent of a forum. When you download the list of newsgroups, everything is listed in alphabetical order. 99% of the time, what you want starts with alt. and has subcategories. Say you wanted to talk about food. You could start in alt.food. Once you subscribe to that newsgroup you'll download all of the recent messages in that newsgroup. It's like clicking on Off Topic from the anandtech forums home page. You'll see lots of different conversations going on at the same time. Say you wanted to download a file, you'd have to go to alt.binaries.<subcategory>. I'm not going into more specific details publicly because I don't know how much I can say about the binaries subcategories without getting busted for porn or warez, so take a look and if you can't figure out the rest PM me.

If your ISP doesn't offer access to newsgroups for free (or the newer thing is for ISP's to not carry the alt.binaries groups(because they are so big and take up the majority of the bandwidth from people downloading movies/games/porn) you'll have to look into a paid newsgroup service. I'm sure some people can recomend a few, I believe easynews was one of the ones I heard before.

Personally, I say forget usenet and just go straight to kazaa... it's much easier and quicker too. 😉
 
lol, this looks like the lamest jason movie ever. i laughed my ass off during the entire preview...i take it as more of a comedy 🙂
