Well, FPL just shut the power off at this office. (They need to do maintenance or something cause Jeanne hit this weekend)
Do we get to go home? Nope. Instead, they're letting the generator run until 5pm (5 hours) so that everyone can continue working. Except there's no A/C, half the lights are off, and only 1 elevator (out of 3) is working.
Employee's well-being? What's that?
Your fault for going in..
after a Hurricane I woulda been.. sorry repairing home damage etc.. will be there maybe tomorrow =P
My fault? How is it my fault? Is it my fault FP&L is turning off the power? Is it my fault a hurricane hit?
If it's anyone's fault it's the Building maintenance guy's fault. He was told yesterday that this was going to happen and didn't tell anyone. If FP&L hadn't given a courtesy call at 9:30am to see the status of the building then no one would've even know until the power went off at noon.
Oh, and there was no damage to my house (or to this building). I went in because I needed to. There's 5 of us in the IT support group for this building, I work M/W/F and the other guy in the lab works T/R/F (I have class on T/R, he has class on M/W). So everyday except Friday there's only 4 of us available, more like 3 because my boss does is usually busy with meetings and paperwork. Oh, and there's 350+ machines in the building, not including the servers.
