man in toyota falls from parking garage

62 years old.....I'm guessing this is another case of foot on accelerator rather than brake.

I watched an old guy in a Lincoln do that many years ago. I was outside the building I worked at and all of a sudden we heard this roar and the car comes flying up through the parking lot and smashes into the building next to us. The engine quit after the impact but it was at full tilt all the way up to the point at which he struck the building.

62 isn't that old. my dad's in his mid-60s... he knows the difference between the brake and gas. he doesn't get them confused.

My MiL did this a number of years ago. She launched her Isuzu off of a 10 foot cliff by stomping on the gas pedal thinking it was the brake.

The vehicle was a total write-off, she did damage to the house next door, but she walked away swearing that the car accellerated on it's own. Yeah right.

old lady took out the hair salon next to the restaurant i worked at in high school. she was like 90ish, said when the car didnt stop she pressed the brake harder, not realizing she had her foot on the gas still. put a 4 door cadillac through the whole waiting area for the salon, pushed the bench into the counter, and the counter into the dividing wall. it even pushed the dividing wall over onto the chairs directly behind it, breaking all the mirrors in that row. we were impressed lol. the three women waiting for a cut n style sitting on the bench werent as amused, but they managed to get away without anything more than a couple scratches.

id have a harder time believing a 62 yr old did this unless they were really that far gone. my mom, stepdad and dad are all 61-64, all three ride harleys still and have pretty good reflexes overall. they are also pretty sharp mentally, and id place them at about average people range. mebbe at the top, just before above average.

So my bosses wife saw this whole thing happen. Says that as she was parking her car she noticed that the guy just drove straight through the parking spot. I don't know exact details as my boss didn't get to talk to his wife to much about it.

Whats crazy is that she works in the Safety department for the company who owns the place. She normally has to do reports for when accidents happen. If the guy turns up to be an employee for the company then guess she has a report to write up!

I like the fact that whenever there is a car accident involving acceleration but not a stuck pedal, they have to mention it if it's a Toyota.

hahaha

you could read the title as Man in Toyota Falls (as in, the name of a city or something) from parking garage (hey, maybe he was conceived in one?)

The closest one, however, is on I-10 and is a dump.

i think you're thinking of the steaKountry buffet in the ikea parking lot. my boss brought us there to lunch one day. i started walking to ikea to eat meatballs and he told me i'd have to walk back to the office.

i still refer to how horrible that was every time he makes some bad suggestion for lunch.

i'm surprised you can go through those cables so easily. but i guess they are designed to preserve the structure as first priority not keep cars in
