I've been driving this for this the past week. I've been moving more of my stuff into my house in here in Raleigh and I need the extra space so I hijacked my dad's truck from the house (hey, he should have never given me a set of keys;)). He's been calling me all week b/c he misses his truck (he's been driving the Highlander in the mean time). Tough luck buddy!:p

But this thing just owns. Nice and quiet, decent throttle response (although the steering is a bit slow), and I can throw all of my sh!t in the back no problem. Been averaging about 21MPG this week as I've been driving it on the highway and around town here in Raleigh. I've even gotten used to parking this long ass truck and parallel parking it (which can be a bitch since it has the shell on the back).

I never realized how useful trucks can be. :p

Sedan replacement? Maybe...;)

I sorta like his old F-150, but that thing was TOO big...sheesh. Felt like I was piloting the USS Enterprise

Sweet. I have an 02 Frontier standard no frills 2x. Love it. I'd much rather have a 4x4 4 door, but the budget was tight and we just needed a small truck.

Yeah, this Frontier rocks. I'm surprised at how well it rides and how quiet it is. I mean, it's not as quiet as our two Toyotas, but it's a damned good.

I think that sometimes too. I've had to borrow an suv a few times since moving into our house and other times a truck would be nice to have. Generally though I do find them useless for me since all i need is personal transport and I'm likely to stick to cars cause of that. Trucks are fun tho - especially huge ass ones like an f350 diesel :D

Hehe. Lemme guess. Anything less than an F-350 Diesel 4x4 Duallie isn't a truck :D

What do you call it?

Anything larger than what you need it too much IMHO. This works out just fine for me. An F-150 or Ram would just be excessive.

Nah...anything less than a 1/2 ton american truck(or Tundra v8 only) with a v6 that actually makes torque ain't a truck imho

HA... why do you think I bought an Astro? RWD, 4.3 V6, Silverado truck frame, hauls @ss and I can fill it up to my desire. I think sedans are good..but I am a truck/van kind of guy :D

But a mid 90's 4Runner VR6 Manual would be good also.. :)

I'm thinking of getting a truck here in a few months.

My nephew rolled in last night in a rental full-size Chevy pickup and it was NICE was in the inside. I find myself needing a truck at least 2-3 times a month and the lower gas mileage won't bother me as I live 1 mile from work and will be getting a bicycle in a few weeks so I'll only drive it in the evenings to truck (heh heh) the kids back and forth to their after-school stuff.

Thinking a used F-150 or maybe the Chevy...but...I could *maybe* get a new F-150 on the A-plan since my stepsister's husband works for Ford. Need to call them up!

Yeah, the new F-150's are sweet. Saw a few of them in Cary, NC. The only thing I didn't like about my dad's F-150 was that I thought it was too damn wide. I hate the feeling of driving something that huge. I mean it was useful though. I helped my GF's parents move in to their new house last year with it. Had the damned thing piled up to the top with crap and made about 4 trips with it full of stuff.

But with the Frontier, it's a much smaller vehicle (it's about 10 inches narrower than our old F-150). It also doesn't wallow around corners either. It's "just right" :p

Yep, trucks are great! I used to drive a wagon to haul stuff, but my new (used) Dakota that I bought 6 months ago is much more useful! Comfortably, quiet, and I don't have to worry when I put my Seadoo in the water with it. Of course 4x4 comes in handy, and the open bed is a great way to view stars with the S/O! :) :)

Looks aight to me. Besides, that's the ONLY way to get a Frontier XE w/o the silly and stupid roof rack. If you get body colored fenders, you HAVE to get the roof rack. And that would be just plain stupid with the shell that my dad has on the back of the truck.

Also, the charcoal colored plastic doesn't look too bad against the color of the truck IMHO. If the truck had been white or red, then I could see it being a problem.
