I have a damn headache from browsing Xoxide, Crazy PC and newegg for computer cases. They all look the same! First i was looking at modifying an X-QPack but right now i'm leaning towards either a Thermalrock, SilverStone or Kingwin HTPC case. However if i get an HTPC case i'm going to have to chop the top to put a window in as i want to build some type of laser lightshow mod.
I dunno...i need ideas....

Anyone...

Why not just get the X-Qpack with windows for your "laser lightshow" or a MicroFly or some other microATX HTPC that comes stock with windows?

Or is it the bezels you don't like?

The Lian-Li PC-7B +2 is a great recommendation. I have the PC-7 and have replaced my case fans with YL 120mm.
Very simple setup and you can add 2 more 120mm with all the frills and lites you want.

Good building.

If you have some spare time and can be patient with your case. do some modding

paint, window, or whatever you want

:)

after all, getting a unique case is everyone's desire

I'm thinking of getting an old DVD player, and use the case for my HTPC. Some of them like 11"x17"x4". It's gonna be a challenge:)

I dunno this is tough. I've wasted probably 16 hours over the past couple of days looking at cases and trying to think of ideas. At first i wanted to go micro but i've decided that i want to add a ton of lights and throw in a beat detection unit so i'm going to need some room. Also instead of your average window i was thinking of a case with lots of holes so the light will pour through them and give a cool yet unique effect. I really liked the Lian Li pc-v800 but it doesn't support a standard atx psu and i don't really want to shell out extra $$$ for propriatory hardware. So right now i'm still searching for a case with an extremely porous exterior but if my quest fails i might turn to a Silverstone, Thermaltake or Thermalrock htpc as they are extremely sleek & stylish.

I have one of these cases with a standard ATX power supply in it, a Enermax Whisper 431. It fits fine.

Zoiks! I hadn't looked closely enough. The psu is located in the front. This could work out nicely. The only question that remains is will i be able to sqeeze lights into this thing. I'd like to install atleast four cold cathods in it so that light is flooding out the pours on both front and back. Think there's room?
