FWIW, I'm left handed and shoot with my right (sometimes my left as well). I, and lots of other lefties, actually do a lot of things right-handed because it's how we were taught at a young age and/or that's how the available equipment was designed (golf, scissors, mouse). Eventually, you just sorta become ambidextrous to a certain extent and default to one hand or the other based on how it feels.

I'm sorry, but if you continue to insist on being logical and making sensible posts here at ATP&N we'll be forced to ask you to refrain from posting.

Never having tried to get my hands in front of me, I couldn't say for sure; just thinking about it made it seem unlikely. Also like you said there may be some incorrect info or embellishment in the story.

It could be an old story like dank69 said.

It is definitely not hard to get your hands in front of you if you're handcuffed from behind. I've never done it in a car but I have done it.

I think if you used your shoulders to prop yourself up and then go your hands down towards your ankles, you could sit and finish the job.

But again the story says his hands were behind him the entire time, which I say is not possible unless you're houdini

If he was handcuffed with hands behind his back he could still draw a pistol carried in the small of his back. It is conceivable that cops could miss a small gun concealed, cops are not perfect by any means. He could have then theoretically fire it straight up to hit himself in the head. Maybe he was trying to shoot the handcuff link to escape like MacGuyver or something.

Macguyver hated guns. He despised them, iirc.

I once remember an episode where his buddy had a wee SMG or something like that, and was about to shoot at some bad guys that were chasing them, and above them, on some platform.

MacGuyver grabs his buddy's gun, cracks it over a nearby water outlet, and uses the gun as a wrench to open the water valve-spraying the bad guys and knocking them to the ground!

Well now that the police have released video of no fewer than 3 officers, two male and one female reenacting exactly how you could do this... while in double locked cuffs behind your back, I suppose those who said earlier in this thread that it would require you to be Houdini, or that it was outright impossible... are now looking a little silly?

This case is another one like Zimmerman/Trayvon where people jump to conclusions about racism, and big spooky conspiracy theories... and end up looking stupid later.

There's no doubt it's a suicide. I've spent the last few hours listening to every witness account, watching everything I can find on this. DEFINITELY killed himself. He expressed that he would do so to a friend if he was arrested again. He told his gf over the phone from the back of the cop car that he had a gun with him. The gun he was known to always carry.

Some people are desperate to believe these conspiracy theories.

Don't get me wrong, I know the cops in the past and still to this day do in fact do shady shit, they taze people they don't need to... they are way way more violent with people than they need to be (19 year old skateboarder in LA story that just happened, or look up the case of Robert Leone in Pennsylvania on Youtube... that one's horrific and he was white)

I believe Ron Settles was killed by police back in the 80's, a black football player.

But much like Trayvon this case just didn't fit the desired narrative.
