Man Do I Suck at MVP Baseball

If it's like the older MVP games in the series, you simply place your hits using the directions on your gamepad or numberpad if using the keyboard.

It's a fun game and the mini-games are a blast. I got it a few days ago but have only played the batting mini-game until I get a new gamepad.

to hit for power and hit homeruns use the up button and press left for a rightie and vice versa for lefties on your gamepad or numberpad. This took me a while to figure out. While pitching look for their cold zones and try to pitch to them there, and also when you have a 2 strike count on someone try and throw outside. Also try playing around with the baseball settings as they have helped me out a lot. Great game going strong with the mets in my first season

Yeah, I insist on playing the Tigers which doesn't help me any. Regarding pitching, I learned that you just gotta throw some balls (balls as in the call) purposefully and mix up your pitches. For example I'll often throw my initial pitch as a fastball as a ball inside then follow up with an off-speed pitch as a strike on the outside corner.....then up and in, down and outside, etc. I think if you try to pitch every pitch as a strike you are gonna get hit good. With regard to hitting, I'm just not that good so I have no tips. :disgust:

I have MVP 2004 for the PC and 2005 for GC. One good way to score some runs is to just be patient while hitting. Don't always swing at the first pitch... try to tire the pitcher out. If you give up too many 8 pitch innins, he'll still be blowing strikes by you in the 8th inning.... when you should be beating up on crappy relievers!

Don't try to pull pitches outside or you'll just pop it up. Try and push inside pitches the opposite field and the same thing will happen. You don't have to go for the big HR all the time.
