Update - moved to general hardware since i think its the ram causing problems, not the CPU.

sorry for being so vague last night. i was in a really bad mood since the computer was acting up and i had my hopes set so high for it. it really put me in a foul state of mind.

it wont do 2.2ghz at 1.5v. it wont do 2.1ghz at 1.5v.

am i doing something wrong?

idle temp at stock voltage and speed is 35C.

with the overflow of information, its hard to tell.

give us some time to process all that information to arrive at a conclusion

if it performs perfectly fine and stable at stock speed, you didnt get a dud. you get what you paid for.

In case Chinkgai didn't make things clear to you....

1. We need to know your system parts and settings
2. If you don't know how to find those, then you should read some basic overclocking faqs/guidelines before posting threads asking why you can't overclock.

What motherboard do you have, what power supply do you have, what memory do you have?

When you increased the "FSB" did you lower the HTT multiplier to 4x. Did you use a ram divider to eliminate the ram as the problem? Did you run memtest and prime95 torture test at stock speeds to make sure it was 100% stable to begin with? Did you make sure the PCI, PCIe, and SATA are locked?

sorry for being so vague guys. try to understand...i was really annoyed and it was like 1AM so i had no one else to complain to except you guys.
