Their customer service is soo unbelievable, but only I think if you have a corporate account...

Had to get a motherboard replaced for a computer at work - supposedly they shipped it out last week. Nothing received in the mail, so I call back - turns out they shipped to our other office in NJ. So the CSR was extremely nice and polite - the most courteous dude ever... Straightened everything out, the part should be here by tomorrow... Apologized about a million times. Dell is just simply great eh?

corporate accounts rock with Dell. I have never had a problem with them. 5 HDDs, 2 floppies, and a cdrom later, i have never had to wait on the phone for more than 5 min on hold.

I've always had excellent customer service from Dell.

And believe it or not, I've had great service from Microsoft's tech support too.

Dell support is great -- question for those of you (corporate) with dells: our newest dells (p3 866) have had so many microsoft mice die. We have the intelimouse w/scroll wheel. We've had to have about 12/50 replaced and will be calling for another 10 this week. :( But, they do get here fast :)

Dell replacement parts (for mouse and keyboard at least) is sent next day air...basically no questions asked. You don't even have to send back the old one. No waits on hold, instant and courteous service, and a long warranty. Now if they would only offer AMD systems.....

Microsoft's support is awesome as well. If you're missing a CD from a program, just give them a call and they'll send the whole set. Their rebate program is the best, turnaround time is usually only a month. Windows 98 on the other hand...%#$@!

It took them six months to acknowledge and replace my bad mobo, and that was only after I threatened them... They USED to be good. Unless you have a business account be cautious.

Yo,
We had a corporate account with Dell and as much as I hate a blindly Intel loving company like Dell, their customer service was pretty responsive as was their sales staff. Probably ordered around $150K worth of equipment over the last 12 months. Considering how many different iterations of sales quotes for which I asked, they were on the ball and courteous throughout. They were alway very prompt with their on site service as well.

that's because business accounts mean a lot more to them than home users, unfortunately :(

Dell's service is top notch. They're always polite and courteous. The only thing is that I have to wait on the phone for a while before someone answers, prolly cause I don't have corporate account.. just a home user
