how i met your mother has tons of hot non-celebrity guest stars all the time. i won't need to watch it on lifetime since i've seen every eppy on cbs but i told my friend to watch it on lifetime since they're showing it in order.

tough call though, haha. i say you only watch the hour block of the show and immediately change the channel when it's over.

the best comedy on broadcast tv right now. (cable has it's always sunny and curb your enthusiasm)

 you never saw Harold and Kumar?

oh. well this has nothing to do with that. I was referencing the idea of NPH being a man card paradox. No paradox found is all I'm saying, and you're post really made it easy to fix to apply that.

My mind is on one mode at the moment: hate all mullets and texans. That is all. Especially mullet-bearing texans.
And I'm going there for spring break to visit my sister. If I get super drunk at a bar and see a texas logo on someone, it might get ugly.

What every other red blooded, meat eating, gun toting, "Yes I want to have that double quarter pounder with cheese AND 6 strips of bacon" men here have said.

Lifetime, no matter what is on, is an immediate disbarment from the male community.

No Lifetime EVER.

I've bolded the important information for your reference. I think that particular thing should be rule #1 of Man Law.

No. Fucking. Lifetime. I don't care if your girl wants to watch it, you tell her no or turn that off or to ESPN or the Military Channel or some other manly shit.

:D FWIW, I don't plan on watching it, since I have the DVD's. I just found it an odd place to air the show.

I think there could be some exceptions to the no Lifetime channel ever rule. The main one being Unsolved Mysteries. I don't know if it started on that channel or what, but I remember only being able to watch it on Lifetime years ago.

Maybe it should just be a temporary suspension of your man card for watching Lifetime and the final decision should be made under further review.

oh, and there really isn't a paradox simply because a paradox refers explicitly to a time-related incongruity. So, NPH /= man card paradox, but not for why you think.

...I just wanted to play along. :(

You lost your man card with "eppy"

How I Met Your Mother was indisputably the best traditional sitcom on network TV until The Big Bang Theory started, now I'm not so cure. The Office is the best overall sitcom on network TV, Always Sunny is the best on basic cable, and I never got into Curb so I have to go with Entourage on premium cable. ;)

No Lifetime EVER.

Turn in your testicles and gun at the door. Please don't list us as a reference.

what if Walker: Texas Ranger was on lifetime?

You lose.

Paradox. Walker: Texas Ranger cannot by definition be on lifetime. If they tried to show it, the channel would grow balls and not be lifetime anymore.

Conversely, Gay, Straight, or Taken could never appear on ESPN.

nothing at all. I was drinking last night and well... rough night last night, mainly due to mullets and Texans.
:( I must say, seeing that mullet on the sidelines did provide a great opportunity for a lot of laughter

I'd watch MIMYM on Lifetime naked wearing an apron* to see more Cobie Smulders.

*this is a fictional depiction of events.

Lifetime, Oxygen, and certain shows on TLC = loss of man card.

On top of that they show the most psychotic depressing shit ever most of the time. Hell, even during the recent holidays their "specials" involved crap like mothers suffering through cancer in some cleverly disguised movie title with the word "Christmas" in it. Might say something about the demographic they market to...

My SO watches that stuff a lot. Drives me nuts. I tease her a lot for it though and that's fun.

On The Lifetime Network.

Is watching Lifetime only for HIMYM acceptable? I need a ruling on this.

It is my belief that HIMYM will, by the power of NPH, transform Lifetime and by this time next month The Best of Ultimate Fighting Championships will be airing in prime time on that network.
It might actually bestow man cards on some women.
We are seeing a charismas miracle.

It's a good show and even though I'm a bit of a nerd, I still don't think The Big Bang Theory is a better show as someone else suggested :p. I don't think there's an issue watching it on Lifetime. If you put something in the way of the Lifetime watermark and ignored the commercials, would you notice a difference? It's not like Lifetime adds mandatory estrogen injections to each watching.

Also, NPH/Barney = FTW.

HIMYM is the worst of the 4 shows on CBS Monday night.
Barney is a great character but due to the show being based on future Ted's (Bob Saget) recollection he's gotta explain everything, refer to flashbacks, etc and that ruins the flow of the show. I cringe sometimes when the narration comes in...

I like all the other shows.
Two and a half men is the best - great writing.

No, they do, that's why you have that little bit of soreness you-know-where every time your tv even stops on that channel.

the red head who used to be on buffy... alysson hennigon? is hot... but not enough reason to watch the show imo.
