That would be true if he were demanding that some government entity cover his debt. Anyone that gives him money through eBay is doing it knowing exactly what they are doing.
 
Has 10 bidders in the last hour, so it sounds like it's working. Wonder how many copycats are coming with real/fake stories.
 
things like this piss me off to no end. What about he auction his possesions off on ebay instead of asking for hand-outs or god forbid how about he under employ himself and work two crap jobs so that way he doesn't get foreclosed on. Yeah he is an engineer but places like target probably need help right now.

I can tell you right now, in the city I live in there aren't even crap jobs available.
 
I've had a little scheme like that, brewing for that past decade or two, just waiting for my time of need to come along. Except my plan was to go door to door and ask for $1(a "loonie" where I'm from) from each homeowner. It seems like nothing. But you put in a good day or two of that and you can hit a couple thousand homes/businesses I would think. Get half paying out, that beats a bloody full time job. But you'd only want to do it when desperate, karma doesn't look kindly on greed.
 
^^^ I did that in highschool. I'd ask people for a single quarter. By lunchtime I'd have nearly 5 bucks or so.. more if people felt bad or didn't have any change so they'd give me a whole dollar.

Don't get all butt hurt about it. People don't HAVE to give him money or anything, he just thought of a quick way to make something out of nothing. Shit I wish I thought of that.

I agree with mxyzptlk. No one should be criticized for executing their freedom of choice to donate to a charity even one such as this.
