Sandforce's TRIM doesn't (and has never) worked quite right, so you can't rely on that. The drive is fine (well, as fine as any Sandforce drive), just don't fill it up past the usual 240 GB.

hmm... I had terrible TRIM exp when I had used Intel 335 SSD. Though TRIM support was natively available, I could not effectively use this. No Firmware updates are available for this controller and I had decided not to go with SF controllers. But after using ADATA SSD, I must say firmware does mean a LOT escpecially to SSD technology. Regularly check for firmware updates from your manufacturer and enjoy the new speeds 🙂

Be careful with that ADATA SSD. It is a Sandforce without the usual over-provisioning "safety buffer", so performance will get really bad if you fill it completely up. I would probably partition it to about 240 GB or so to avoid that situation.

I agree that 1st generation SF drives had performance issues once the limit exceeded 240G. I have been using ADATA XPG SX900 from past few months and havent had a single till now. New firmware has fixed most of these issues and I currently am on a song with this SSD 🙂. Drive is fast and increases Windows load times dramatically. Quiet and power efficient.Best value SSD according to harddrivebenchmark.net. Smart choice Redemption!!

I don't know what you're trying to say here. The absolute capacity has nothing to do with it, it's the percent capacity that you've used.

Ok, Just another update on the system. I got all the components installed and tweaked. I have to say, I am not one bit disappointed in my decision. All the games I have, now run with butter smoothness! The SSD is just amazing. however, when I installed it and got to the partition stage of the windows installation, I was only allowed 238 gigs of space, even after deleting the partition as reccommended by ADATA. Still can't figure that one out, but I have to say, I feel like I have a 3-5 year future proof machine now. I did want to throw this in too because I wasn't expecting to buy this but when I saw it in the store, it just grabbed me. I was originally going to buy the 27" 2 ms monitor, but I am leery of getting monitors through UPS or FedX (I like to called them the DB Express. lol). So to cut to the chase, I got this beautiful AOC 12757fH 27" IPS monitor. I know the warnings about ghosting with IPS screens but this has a 2 ms response and I am VERY sensitive to ghosting and there was none that I could see. If you can find this monitor, I highly recommend it!!! Again thanks for all your help!
