<< A search of Altman's condo yielded guns, knives, crossbows, Asian throwing stars, double-edged hatchets and more than 17,000 rounds of ammunition. Authorities also found manuals on bomb making and counterfeit military orders. >>

He had munitions up that ass! He is gonna need a really good lawyer for defending himself!
>>

The article says he was arrested for impersonating an officer, not stockpiling weapons.

My little brother wears bdu's to play in. If he starts telling friends he's a gulf war vet, should he go to jail?

In the U.S. you can wear a military uniform, but your can not pass yourself off as an officer in service to the U.S. military.

<< Also, the man overheard Altman telling people that President George W. Bush had called him back into active duty to oversee training Navy Seals and testing weapons and ammunition for the Navy, a U.S. District Court affidavit said.

Authorities' interviews with the condo manager and a UPS delivery man revealed that Altman also claimed to be in frequent communication with the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff and that he had weapons in his home.

Looks like they found PCResources.

Does your little brother also wear medals and claim that President Bush called him into active duty to train special forces? No? Well then, your little brother is not impersonating an officer, which is what this man was arrested for. As far as I'm concerned, this wacko needs to be put away, last thing we need is an idiot dragging down the reputation of the US Armed Forces.

no, because if you can't tell that you're little brother is not serious, you're an idiot.

this guy has no reason to sue... or at least i didn't see one. he broke the law, they arrested him.

So he deserves jail time for BSing? It's impossible to distinguish between "impersonating an officer" to impress your mom and "impersonating an officer" to say, steal an M60?

perhaps he was really some covert op's guy for the cia, etc etc who had an alias in the navy, and they needed to put him where he could be watched now that he had done his duty's. Just a funny thought

I believe that the title suits the story better with "Man arrested for impersonating an officer". JMVHO.

A search of Altman's condo yielded guns, knives, crossbows, Asian throwing stars, double-edged hatchets and more than 17,000 rounds of ammunition. Authorities also found manuals on bomb making and counterfeit military orders.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Eileen O'Connor called the collection a " frightening amount of weaponry," and "more [ammunition] than the ATF in Miami has in storage for all its agents."She added that Altman declared bankruptcy 10 years ago and has been in mental decline since.

Oh My! I hope that young man did not hurt anybody. It is so hard when your son has "problems".

you have to look at this guy. he has a large stockpile of guns and ammo, took his driver's license photo in a uniform, etc. not to mention he denied everything at first, meaning he was well aware of the fact that he was breaking the law.

what is the purpose for most of our laws? to protect society. i'm glad this guy got arrested. i do not want a nutjob like this running around in dress uniform, with a " frightening amount of weaponry," and "more [ammunition] than the ATF in Miami has in storage for all its agents." i just hope this guy gets the help he obviously needs.
