Man arrested for the 226th time...

At what point do you give up. I mean the guy has been arrested 226 bloody times. He is obviously not very good at what he does. He needs to find a new profession.

Wow...and he's only ranked #40 for overall number of crimes comitted in the area 😛...652 is the record lmao

He's been arrested 226 times. That's absolutely ridiculous. I mean they at least shoudl apply that "3 strikes" rule--but it seems Nebraska doesn't have that.

652 is insane. How do you find time to get arrested that often? haha

I live in Lincoln, Nebraska. We have a habitual offender law, ususually termed 'the bitch'. Typically after 3 felonies, a judge can give you the bitch and basically put you away for most of your life. However, as the article stated, 222 of his arests were not felonies.

Given a life span of 80 years, that's About 29200 days. That means he got arrested about once every 45 days.

But you probably didn't get arrested for at least the first 10 or so years of your life, and I think teh 652 guy achieved that before death.

Also, some arrests result in year(s) of jailtime, during which you don't get arrested...

prosecutors will urge a judge to treat Holder as a habitual criminal

I'm thinking that perhaps Lincoln needs better prosecutors??
I mean, wtf does this guy have? A card that they stamp every time he plea bargains? "Okay, that's the 10th plea bargain we gave you; you owe us a medium drink and a small sandwich."

Definitely sounds like a good argument for the "3 strikes law". Habitual criminal statutes are fine, (and it sure sounds like they have lots of them in Lincoln), but the 3 strikes laws can be written so that once a person has 1 or 2 felonies, misdemeanors can be used as strikes, to get them off the streets. SOME people will never be rehabilitated, regardless of how much money gets spent in the attempt...

Thank you!

You guys are too harsh - I'm not sure if you were raised very religious, lead a charmed life, or what, but don't get carried away here...

Getting arrested 226 times is absurd, but if he never hurt anyone, raped anyone, or did anything other than make an ass out of himself, then I'm not sure if locking him away and throwing away the key is necessarily the best option. Killing him is certainly too far.

OK, So i thought about it and, yes, he probably should be in a minimum security cell no matter what his offenses. But i will add that I think the 3 strikes rule is far too harsh. I was a confused teen who lived in a big city (NYC) and had my share of punk rock wanna-be friends. We got in trouble all the time but we all were given wrist slap after wrist slap, probably because they were upper-middle class white kids. I'm not pulling the race card - I'm not white. But we did things that we probably should have been arrested for (shoplifting, etc.) that we all grew up past and we are all upstanding citizens right now. If we weren't who we were (read: if we were poor minorities) the "teenage angst driven mistakes" that we moved on past might have left us with a criminal record, or worse.

LOL 226 times...I like this part

Lancaster County Attorney Gary Lacey said Holder was charged Tuesday with felony possession of burglar tools, and prosecutors will urge a judge to treat Holder as a habitual criminal.

Now think about all the judges after the 10th time, they never considered him a habitual criminal, now thats sad.
