DUI laws are stupid. I read about one guy, who while drunk, slept in his truck WITH NO ENGINE and was given a DUI.

That said, this moron deserved to get in some sort of trouble. And on shear principle, I'm going to disagree with anything alkemyst posts.

I don't think police just go around giving orders to normal citizens walking the street.
I imagine you'd be surprised if you could see every cop every minute on duty. Power goes to people's heads, nobody is immune to it.

It's funny cause you probably think I'm all pro-police, but I'm totally not. I've been arrested twice and both times I think police have done some messed up things to get the arrest but the fact of the matter is I was still doing something wrong at the time so either way I look at it I had something coming to me one way or another. I just believe this guy on the bike is a true idiot and there comes times to disrespect police and there is times when there is no reason to. Although we have no way of knowing if the police said anything negative to him (obviously they won't report that) but in this case the bartender even said the guy was being a jerkoff, so I'll have to take the side of the officers in this one.

Likewise, you'll notice that I don't deny he deserved some sort of punishment. Laws are meaningless without enforcement, which is what the police provide. However I also believe that the punishment should fit the crime, and too often nowadays it seems like zero tolerance policies combined with minimum sentencing guidelines have put us on the road to a police state. Just look at the fact that the US has one of the largest prison populations in the world as a percentage of total population.
