Kansas farmer posted a big sign up saying "Democrats - party of parasites"

The problem?

The farmer got over $1million in gov subsidies over the past 15 years. Whoops!

Of course, he denies the logical inconsistency and claims it's OK for him to get subsidies, since it's just his tax money coming back to him, LOL.

Once again, anyone else getting money from the gov is a bad person, but it's always OK for yourself. :\

Sounds like someone I know who thinks of all democrats as welfare queens yet has been collecting unemployment for two years. Think this is a pretty common occurrence actually.

These people infuriate me. Get rid of all subsidies whether it be farming or medicare or social security. Lower taxes, lower the minimum wages, get people off of government dependence and watch the economy blossom.

He got 1 million dollars over 15 years, big whoop. He's been paying his taxes for how long?

People that sit on their ass and don't work and get free money from the government that don't deserve it is wrong.

He's right, Democraps love free hand outs without contributing to the hand out fund.

Everyone with a clue? SS is an old people subsidy at the expense of the productive.

You left out the part about the involuntary contribution "old people" have had withheld from their paychecks from the day they received their Social Security Number. My father paid into Social Security from 1943 until 1992. He retired and died 2 years later. Was that 2 years of Social Security income a "subsidy at the expense of the productive"?

Yeah 1,000,000/15=$66,666 a year or about twice what the average worker makes in this country.... for fucking free.

Thanks for your unique brand of hackery.

Just wondering, but if he paid more than a million in taxes over the past 15 years, is he still a "parasite" or did he just get a refund?

Parasite. He got police/roads/firemen to put out the fires people set to his house/truck, etc. that he didn't pay for.

Let me use an example here.

Let us say Ford said the same thing. They don't want wealth redistribution. Then the government goes and offers car manufacturers $5 billion dollars. Should Ford not take the money that the government would be giving to GM?

Merely on the basis that the handout exists, forces them to take it to remain competitive. Otherwise GM would wipe the floor with Ford with government-subsidized consumer prices.

Going back to this farmer. Should he have let the government handout money to other farmers, thereby eliminating himself from offering competitive government-subsidized consumer prices?

People can be forced into a position, backed into a corner, they abhorrently oppose. Doesn’t mean the choice between feast or famine is a choice at all. When the government is subsidizing your competition you’ll either join in on the take, or you’ll be put out of business by the government’s actions.

I would believe that his local/state taxes paid for the vast majority if not all of those. He didn't get a local state subsidy, he got a federal one.

I think you may have completely missed the point.

True. To not take the subsidies would be to put yourself out of business.

No, I don't think he did at all. It's not as simple as you may think. If the only option is to go out of business because all of his competition get subsidies to improve their farms, then one must take the subsidies or go out of business.
