The "always on" feature is very handy for blocking "iffy" websites and ads.

I guess this is lifetime,as in the lifetime of this one pc , that I up grade over and over ? When the m/b changes and the cpu , then that's the lifetime ? That's about 2~ three years for me .

How annoying is the "always on" feature in terms of interfering with day to day use? I've been using the free version forever, and I've never had an issue because I always manually scan anything I'm even remotely concerned about. But at this price, considering it.

I use it on all the PCs & laptops at home and the "always on" has never been a problem, plus it has blocked potential problems on more than one occasion.

Better to not have your PC get infected than to have to clean it up afterwards.

I'm trying to figure out if this is actually worth it. Free AV's already have 99% detection rates and real time protection and everything I've seen tells me that they're on par with any paid solution.

Anything specific this does better than free AV other than the .05% extra scanning power?

I think it's your lifetime, at least the way I've treated it. I've upgraded or even replaced computers and reused it without a problem. I have always bought and used one license per operating computer.

That's how it works. You have the license number, you deactivate it on the old computer, reactivate it on the new computer... it's that simple.

You can always deactivate, that will release the license. Then, on the new computer activate it again.

I bought a lifetime license a year or two ago just to support their effort. I figure it also helps to pay for the bandwidth that I use with the free version.

You have to set like 10 settings to make it non-annoying (disable notifications, scan for rootkits, set the update & scan schedule, etc.) & then it's good.

Also FYI, I activated mine today - Amazon stores the key as ID-XXX KEY-YYY, so you have to copy the ID numbers into the ID section & the Key number into the key section separately. Maybe Amazon doesn't have a function for two-field registration entries 😛
