This will be the trend over here when beards go out of style for the 10,000th time.

This trend will most likely be started by hipsters.

Then 3 years later, the trend will be beards and makeup.

Beards never go out of style. :colbert:

I do web videos as part of my job, and makeup is a requirement for on camera work. Men typically wear only foundation and blot powder. It's mostly to reduce shine caused by the bright lights, as well as even skin tone so you don't look weird or greasy. Unfortunately we don't have a full time makeup person so I had to order it myself, which was truly a bizarre experience.

No way in hell I'd wear it outside of work though. Too much work, and people would probably start thinking you're a bit mysterious. Heck, I don't even like shaving all that much.

This. If for camera work, especially around lighting and reflection, it is needed.

Same thing with stage performances as well, not from a flamboyant perspective (though it can overlap) but from a presentation point and to better read the actor's faces for the audience in lighting.

But in day to day? No. I balk at gel in the hair. No way would I have that on my face.

In an attempt to sound cool, I lied to a alternative type girl I was trying to bang in the 10th grade by telling her I occasionally wore eyeliner when I went out. That's about as close as I ever got to using makeup unless you count dressing as a clown for Halloween.

I bathe, brush my teeth, deodorize and gel my hair to keep it under control, and that's only on a good day.

when i used to have some acne i'd use a little bit of coverup but that's about the only time a man should wear make-up unless a)you are an actor b)a drag queen c)from south korea

Isn't that what "metrosexual" was all about, straight guys who wear make up and shave?

It's never been mainstream because it's impractical.

I have beard, and have had since the 90s when I grew old enough to have a beard at 15. But I have no make up other than if the woman I kiss happens to be wearing lipstick. That said, since I have a fiance, I do not kiss other women who have lipstick. But, maybe I could wear my own makeup/lipstick, and then I could kiss other women more and not get caught?

In any case, it seems like a lot of work, and I would rather just be honest with my fiance.
