got it in today. very slim. remote comes with batteries, a nice touch. feels like it's made out of metal rather than plastic. here's a pic:

yes, the disc tray doesn't come all the way out. kinda weird. the tray is made out of clear plastic.

nice selection of outputs, including composite, s-video, and component for video, and stereo RCA, coaxial digital, and optical digital for audio. progressive scan is a nice touch, I'll give it a try with my projector sometime. I have it hooked up to my audio amp; it plays regular CDs as well as MP3 CDs just fine.

all in all better quality than I expected for twenty-five bucks. I'm happy :)

Now, is this a "DVD-806", or a "DVP-806"? It matters, because there's a videohelp.com entry for the DVP-806, but not the DVD-806.

This is the DVD-806. I have the box right in front of me.

DVD works fine. I set it to YUV component and medium sharpness on progressive after playing around a bit. Remote stinks tho. Button layout is kinda dumb and you have to press the buttons weird to make it do anything. Oh well, it's just for a CD player, I won't really be using it as a DVD player. Yay for MP3 support :)
