Very cool, but so... useless.
um radios these day they use transistor. vacuum tube are still used exclusively in guitar amplifiers and high end home audio amplifier

I don't think you got my point.
He created a tube by hand and assembled a radio out of it. Geek factor - very high. Usability and practicality - very low.
You can't use his tubes in hi-end amps: tubes used there are much more sophisticated than a pair of cathode-anodes: dual triodes, several grids in them, etc, and a very high level of vacuum. All of this unachievable in a home workshop. Hence his tubes aren't good for anything more than a radio.
