Making use of the car ride at work

I've got about a 30 minute commute to work every morning, if traffic's bad it can be an hour. Basically, this is sunk time. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how best to spend this time without being a hazard on the road (books on tape, etc etc)?

One thing I'd like to do is some GRE prep, the verbal/vocab portion to be specific (so learning uncommon words, etc). Does anyone have any suggestions how I might be able to do this? I haven't been able to come up with anything reasonable.

Not trying to be dangerous on the road, just trying to see how others utilize this time. Suggestions?

Listening to music while trying to race other drivers.

For some reason I have a sadistic fascination with watching my gas gauge move whenever I open the intake.

Podcasts are a great way to use the time. Zillions of subjects, always fresh content. I like free audio fiction myself.

I used to spend it raging at my fellow commuters which was one of the reasons I deleted the need to spend time in my car during rush hour.

i talk with the voices in my heard

30-40 min drive, no radio in my car as it was stolen 18 months ago and i just have been too lazy to replace it

I listen to news. I guess I'm officially old now (26). Back in the days I'd blast trance or metal. Now it's good to catch up with the world while I'm commuting.

That's a good way to make friends ... yah jerk!

My heated seats get warm before I'm even 1/4 of the way driving in, and it isn't because they heat quickly. 🙁

Another vote for Podcasts. Tons of subjects, informative and funny. I haven't listened to the radio in probably 2 years now.

Used to listen to y/z100 morning zoo radio show but I listen to ch130 on XM (g35c has built in XM and it's a free station) which is all politics/news/AP radio. i actually rarely listen to the radio now except for that.. kinda sad.
