Most of us in the U.S. were left in the dark at the end, the SpeedTV announcers got wrapped up in Vettel's pass of Hamilton and gave no information on how quickly Vettel & Hamilton were gaining on Glock as he struggled in the wet.

Bob Varsha screaming "THAT'S TIMO GLOCK!!!" at basically the last corner of the race was all the heads-up we got.

This is as exciting as F1 gets, so don't expect them all to be this way :)

This was probably the closest championship in the history of F1. DECIDED AT THE LAST CORNER OF THE LAST LAP OF THE LAST RACE OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP.

Sorry CAPS. I was so happy for Hamilton. My heart was just going nuts in the last couple of laps.

WRC is where it's at.

Aside from the definitely better quality of television, I would point out that it's also given us the Subaru Impreza WRX STi, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo, and the Audi Quattro - and, by extension, the RS4, TT, Volkswagen Golf R32, Lamborghini Gallardo, and Bugatti Veyron. Of course, F1 has given us many advances as well - traction control, ABS, and limited-slip differentials being good examples, but NASCAR is based on technology that was last described as "modern" during the Truman administration.

for the top teams with unlimited budgets, there's dozens of sensors on each of 2 cars plus race data being beamed across the planet, into super computers at their offices, and the results beamed back to the pits. there are mics hung on the command posts to record and analyze every car's engine sound in real time. they chew through eleventeen thousand simulations, during the race itself. with strict limits placed on wind tunnel and track time, the super duper computers are simulating changes on the cars for non-stop refinement - mclaren just spent $7 million on improvements for the final race of the season.
