Baseball in-person > Baseball on TV

I love going to Phillies games, but I don't usually watch them on TV.

Agreed, but for the Giants (and the occasional A's game). Going in-person is so much more fun.

I've always thought the runners should be allowed to carry their bats as they run the bases so they are more of an offensive threat. Would be a lot more interesting if the 2nd baseman had to worry about taking a bat to the head or nuts if he was trying to tag a guy out.

I enjoy live Baseball, but I can't really watch it on TV. I do listen to it on the radio, but it's easy for me to keep working or doing other things while I listen on the radio.

The only thing they can do to really increase interest in watching is greatly reducing the time between pitches.

Yeah that would be great. Games need to be 2.5 hours maximum and they need to speed up both the pitchers and batters.

Batter can't leave the box, and pitchers have a "pitch clock" just like the shot clock in basketball.

I'm a baseball fan. Not huge, but it's probably my third favorite team sport, behind football and basketball.
I was raised in San Francisco, so I've always been a Giants fan.

But to me, the biggest downfall of baseball is the length and meaninglessness of the regular season. When you play nearly every single day for nearly 6 solid months, I'm sorry, it just loses it's drama and impact. Lost 4 in a row? So what?

Post season baseball is an ENTIRELY different experience. So much more tense and meaningful, thereby enjoyable. Which I think just proves my point. When the game don't matter as much, it fails to be as interesting, plain and simple.

I like baseball, but here's 2 things that I think should be changed.

There should be 7 innings instead of 9, and that best out of 5 games crap has to go. One game that's it!.

Most people I know don't even watch an entire baseball game and only tune in for the latter half.

Having played baseball in college I think they need to make it one strike and you are out and one ball and you get walked.

I used to think it was really boring until I actually got into it more and its a much more interesting game then I thought. There are a lot more things going on then meets the eye.. it helps that the Tigers are awesome now.

IMO basketball is much more boring. Too many pussy fouls.

So agreed. I used to follow basketball all the time.. then it came to only following the playoffs. Now I barely follow it at all. All I know is the Heat were on some winning streak and the local Warriors are getting in the playoffs.
